Fabrizio Romano Offers Update On Arsenal's Offer To Mikel Arteta

Supporters of Arsenal may relax. It seems that Mikel Arteta will be staying put. The club has reportedly begun contract extension discussions with Arteta, according to football source Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners are eager to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium beyond the end of his current contract in 2025.

Since Arteta’s 2019 arrival at Arsenal, the club has seen a remarkable transformation. Arsenal, who had previously been aimless, is now a formidable rival for the English Premier League title. They have been in a championship fight with Manchester City for the last two seasons. The 42-year-old Spanish manager has the full support of the club, players, and supporters as he guides them towards success.

The matter:

According to Romano, Arsenal is overjoyed to have Arteta on board, and the Arteta feels the same way. Since both parties are pleased with the progress they’ve made so far, there’s no need to hurry to close the agreement. During an appearance on The Daily Briefing on CaughtOffside, Romano divulged these thoughts.

The calm attitude represents the deep bond that Arteta has with the club. Everyone is on the same page that the specifics will be worked out shortly, but nobody is in a rush. Arsenal are certain that Arteta isn’t interested in joining a rival team. The Arsenal project is still his exclusive priority.

There’s no denying Arteta’s influence on the squad. He’s the guy behind Arsenal’s comeback; he’s more than simply the manager. The team seems more united, the tactics are more precise, and the outcomes validate the efforts. Under Arteta, Arsenal went from a failing team to one that is really contending for the crown.

His worth is acknowledged by the club’s upper echelons. By extending an offer of a new contract, you can cement his position and guarantee continuity. As an added bonus, it shows the players and supporters that they are making the correct decisions by continuing on this path. When there is consistency at the management level, it usually shows up on the field.

Staying at Arsenal seems to be about more than only the job for Arteta. The focus is on finishing what he began. It seems like he and the club are dedicated to finishing what he started in North London. The new contract’s formalities are still up in the air, but so far, everyone is on the same page. There is complete agreement on both sides. Arteta has faith in Arsenal’s ability, and Arsenal has faith in Arteta’s vision.

What did he say?

“I think soon. I don’t think it’s going to be long. Arsenal already had some conversations with the agents of Mikel Arteta. And they are quite relaxed because they are very happy with Arteta and Arteta is very happy with Arsenal. They believe all together in this project for the present and future,” Romano said when asked a question about Arteta’s future on CaughtOffside’s The Daily Briefing.

He added: “So this is why they are not in a rush. Obviously, they want to get it done as soon as possible, but they feel that Arteta is not entertaining talks with any other club. He only wants to focus on the Arsenal project and they are more than happy with him so I think it’s just a matter of time before they meet again they can fix the details of the new contract, but the initial conversations already took place and so I think it’s a matter of time and then we will see Mikel Arteta signing a new contract.”
