While manager Arne Slot tries to increase his defensive options, Liverpool is looking at Mohamed Simakan this summer. Philipp Hinze of Sky Sports Germany claims that Liverpool is not the only one of interest; Atletico Madrid also exhibits great enthusiasm in the RB Leipzig defender. Leipzig probably wants a sum for the French player between €40 and 45 million.
Liverpool is aggressively trying to improve its defense throughout this transfer season. Arne Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp, hence the emphasis has been on strengthening the center defensive points of view. Given that his tactical tactics depend on both the right and left flanks of the defense, Slot seeks to strengthen both.
Liverpool Eye The €40-45m Defender
Reflecting Liverpool’s desire for a left-footed center-back, recent stories connect the club to Goncalo Inacio. The team’s interest in Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace makes sense as at the same time they are open to recruiting another right-footed player. Arne Slot is resolved to have at least one top-notch defender before the window shuts; Mohamed Simakan is a prime target.
Simakan, who has past ties to Premier League sides, would prove to be a major signing for Liverpool should they make a genuine approach. RB Leipzig is not keen to let go of the player, however, and Simakan himself seems happy with his present team. Leipzig’s asking price of €40–45 million will test the market and maybe force interested teams to match this value in order to land his services.
Additionally in the mix for Simakan is Atletico Madrid, who want to replace Mario Hermoso, a free agent who departed the team, and handle questions about Jose Maria Gimenez’s future. Manager of Atletico Diego Simeone sees Simakan as a great signing because of his adaptability and right-back playing abilities. Which club can reach Leipzig’s asking price and persuade the player of their vision for him will determine the competitiveness for Simakan’s signing.

After his suggested move to Marseille fell through, Lazio is in a perfect position to recruit Mason Greenwood. Manchester United is ready to unload the attacker, who may soon find a new home in Serie A. Strong resistance from the mayor of Marseille and the supporters of the club caused the £27 million agreement to fall apart. Juventus and Napoli also expressed interest, but subsequently withdrew under similar public outcry. Lazio is now the top contender seeking Greenwood.
Manchester United wants Greenwood’s leaving finalized quickly. Although their efforts at a move have encountered major obstacles, Lazio’s interest presents a fresh possibility. Earlier, the Italian club showed interest; however, the current circumstances have sparked their search once again. One may argue Lazio’s approach is strategic. Other teams pulling out their interest might let Lazio negotiate a less cost than the £27 million agreed upon with Marseille. Driven to fix things, Manchester United might take a less offer to enable Greenwood’s leaving.
