Chelsea Wants To Stop This Striker's Move To Arsenal

Chelsea is in constant conversation with Napoli about a possible loan-to– purchase agreement for Victor Osimhen. Said to be eager to make a big career move, the Nigerian striker who was instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A triumph is Looking to increase their offensive options, Chelsea views Osimhen as a perfect target even if he seemed to have given up on their chase.

Romelu Lukaku is also involved in the Chelsea-Napoli discussions. Unwanted at Chelsea, the Belgian striker may open the path for Osimhen’s relocation to Napoli. But Napoli’s high value of Osimhen—probably between €100 million and €130 million—complicates things. They have also shown a taste for a permanent relocation instead of a loan-to- purchase plan.

The yearly salary of Victor Osimhen, over €10 million, adds even another level of intricacy to the agreement. Roberto Calenda, his representative, has written off the loan move as “fake news.” Calenda underlined Osimhen’s value to Napoli and attacked the idea of seeing him as a negotiable commodity. This position implies Napoli’s resistance to accept a loan agreement unless it has a forced buy provision.

Among other elite teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea competes for Osimhen. Securing the Nigerian striker would also be highly sought after by the Gunners, hence increasing his price. Paris Saint-Germain showed interest but withdrew because of Napoli’s demanding standards.

Osimhen supposedly likes Didier Drogba, which may affect his choice to sign with Chelsea. Should Napoli consent to a loan-to–buy agreement, Chelsea may be able to get Osimhen signed. But this transaction seems difficult considering Napoli’s strong position on their worth and taste for a permanent move.

Although Osimhen would be a great addition to Chelsea’s team, I find this deal improbable given the hefty expenses and expectations from Napoli. To increase their offensive, Chelsea might have to search for other possibilities or work out a more realistic plan.

With their eyes fixed on Juventus winger Federico Chiesa this summer, Chelsea is leading many other interested teams in the competition. TEAMtalk claims that the Blues are in contact with Chiesa’s agency and are front-runners for his signing. Chelsea wants to acquire a new winger and maybe a striker, and Chiesa, valued at around £20 million, fits the criteria exactly. Manager Enzo Maresca is enthusiastic about Chiesa, a “bargain” choice on the transfer market. Juventus has made him accessible because they want him not lost for free next summer. Chelsea views this as a chance to get a player of his kind at a somewhat modest cost.

Chiesa wants pay of £130,000 a week, and his departure conditions from Juventus are obvious. Although Chelsea and Juventus have not yet started direct discussions, if Chelsea settles on specifics with the player and his agency, they should start shortly. Arsenal and Tottenham, their London rivals, provide fierce challenge for the Blues. Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, is also searching for a fresh wide attacker. The Gunners, who have been keeping an eye on other wingers such Nico Williams and Raphinha, find Chiesa’s price tag appealing. But getting such players seems difficult, hence Chiesa is a more realistic objective at £20 million.
