The yearly salary of Victor Osimhen, over €10 million, adds even another level of intricacy to the agreement. Roberto Calenda, his representative, has written off the loan move as “fake news.” Calenda underlined Osimhen’s value to Napoli and attacked the idea of seeing him as a negotiable commodity. This position implies Napoli’s resistance to accept a loan agreement unless it has a forced buy provision.
Among other elite teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea competes for Osimhen. Securing the Nigerian striker would also be highly sought after by the Gunners, hence increasing his price. Paris Saint-Germain showed interest but withdrew because of Napoli’s demanding standards.
Osimhen supposedly likes Didier Drogba, which may affect his choice to sign with Chelsea. Should Napoli consent to a loan-to–buy agreement, Chelsea may be able to get Osimhen signed.
