Arsenal News: Arsenal’s summer acquisition window has not exactly been exciting, and now they seem to be passing on a player who was keen to join them. Mikel Arteta eventually signed Riccardo Calafiori a few weeks ago, but the Gunners are still looking for their next major acquisition.
Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad appears most likely to join Arsenal next. Still, another player won’t be donning the red and white this season, despite his want to play under Arteta. Arsenal looks to be concentrating more on Merino, particularly since Liverpool’s declared strong interest in his colleague Martin Zubimendi. The Gunners’ quest of Merino may become complicated by Liverpool’s advance for Zubimendi.
Arsenal Will Now Not Sign “The Player Who Wanted To Play Under Mikel Arteta”
Arsenal should focus on bolstering their offense with Calafiori in the bag and Merino maybe on route. They have now chosen, however, to distance themselves from a bargain that may have greatly strengthened their front line. Though Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen is interested in joining Arsenal, sources state the team has dropped out of the battle to recruit him.
Arsenal supporters still find new resonance in the challenges of Gabriel Jesus last season. With only four Premier League goals, his performance was unsatisfactory, particularly since Arsenal lost the championship by just two points. With his 15 goals and four assists in Serie A last season, Osimhen may have been the difference Arsenal needed.
Osimhen clearly had the ability to improve Arsenal’s offensive and maybe tilt the scales in their advantage for the championship. Arsenal may therefore lose a vital chance by turning away from this contract. Especially considering his declared want to join, the choice to pass on Osimhen seems like a risk that may haunt them in the next months.

Arsenal showed interest in left-back Ferdi Kadioglu of Fenerbahce by making an offer, although Brighton & Hove Albion could be closer to acquiring the player. Under Jose Mourinho, 24-year-old Kadioglu has grown to be a major player for Fenerbahce; the Turkish team regards him at over £30 million. He is a sought-after target in the present transfer season because his achievements at the European Championships have attracted even more notice.
Mikel Arteta seeks to bolster the left-back post and give Oleksandr Zinchenko competition, so Arsenal’s first offer for Kadioglu was apparently turned down. Arsenal is interested, but Brighton with their new manager Fabian Hurzeler looks to have the advantage in the hunt to get Kadioglu. Though they aren’t nearly completed, Brighton has already made some interesting additions like Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, Ibrahim Osman, and Malick Junior Yalcouye.
According to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, Brighton is aggressively trying to sign Kadioglu and discussions seem to be moving well nicely. Kadioglu is a key target identified by Hurzeler; the player himself seems interested in the transfer. Brighton’s eagerness to fit the £30 million budget might help them to surpass Arsenal in this acquisition quest.
