Transfer Saga Of The Manchester Clubs-
The Manchester club duo are currently in the race to sign midfield prodigy Lorenzo Pelligrini from Serie A side AS Roma. Pelligrini has been on the radar of Manchester United for a few months now, but local rivals Manchester City are now ready to battle for the Italian star. Jose Mourinho is still looking to strengthen his squad despite splashing heavy transfer fee’s on star players like Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelof and Eric Baily the latest transfer target on his list is Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The Red Devils manager reportedly sent scouts to observe and check on the young midfield man during Roma’s 2-0 victory over league rivals AC Milan on Sunday at the San Siro and they had only positive reports to bring back. Pelligrini is as good as they come in the midfield department; the 21 year old is sharp and precise with his passing. He is a player who always looks to drive forward when he receives the ball. His composure and vision on the pitch is rather astute however, he isn’t one to use the physical aspect of the game.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had also sent a few of his staff to observe the player when Roma emerged winners against Verona in a 3-0 result on the 16th of last month. The Spanish boss has a reputation for picking out future stars and has dubbed the Italian to be a brilliant prospect in the future. The reports that came back to the Etihad were no different than their neighbors. Pelligrini is possessed with wonderful dribbling skills blessed with high quality technical ability along with his right decision making on the field.
Having spent his youth career at Roma, Pelligrini moved to Sassuolo in 2015 and after getting regular playing time at his new club, Pelligrini matured immensely as a player and returned to Roma a completely fresh midfielder. And in the brief new start to the season, he has shown why Roma brought him back to the club.
Being at the heart of midfield in the club he has produced many stellar displays for the Italian outfit and he seems destined for stardom.
Certainly United and City could provide him a solid foundation to showcase his talent. However, the race between the two clubs is on as the Manchester sides are currently top of the table first and second respectively.
Race To The Top-
Both the clubs from Manchester are performing at their very best and have the advantage in the league at the moment. It might be all Manchester in the top flight of English football, if they can keep this form going, as they are looking unstoppable at the moment and just can’t stop scoring goals.
One problem however will the recent injuries that the players of the various teams have suffered during the international break, which could be a huge set-back for the teams who were going all guns blazing.
Hopefully, Mourinho can make good use of the bench strength that he has and utilize the players well.
