Mourinho’s Primary Target!!
Jose Mourinho has recently targeted his latest transfer in the form of Tottenham striker Harry Kane. The English striker has been on the radar of the Portuguese boss and his side have received a huge boost towards signing the stellar forward. Kane has been one of the top strikers in the world over the past few years but is yet to win a major trophy with Tottenham. The North London side have relied on the importance of the Englishman’s goals to help them finish 3rd and 2nd over the last two seasons. Kane finished as top scorer in the Premier League over the last two seasons which has drawn massive interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Los Blancos boss, Zinedine Zidane has hinted at his interest in the Tottenham hit-man as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal captain is now 32 years old and may not have a long future at the Santiago Bernabeu. And Madrid now will be looking to prepare themselves for life after the ace winger.
Zidane has a lot of young potential at his disposal in the form of Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Isco and Kovacic, but lacks a formidable goal-scorer. With so many quality attacking players, Kane would get a whole bunch of goals to his credit with his finishing ability.
However, the French boss has stated that he is not willing to spend a fortune on Kane. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has constantly stated that his star forward is not for sale at any price, but that could change once the offers come in. Zidane has also stated that he would not be willing to shell out more than £170m for Kane.
This is where the Red Devils gain an advantage over the European champions. Zidane has claimed he would not go toe to toe with United if they are going to bid in excess of £170m. Kane could join United as he has already established himself in his native and would prefer to play in England rather than Spain.
Mourinho has expressed his desire to strengthen his attack with a few quality players in an attempt to win the English Premier League and the Champions League with United. The Manchester outfit have already splashed out huge sum on transfers for Pogba and Lukaku over the past two seasons.
The Belgian striker is currently the top scorer in the Premier League so far with seven goals in eight appearances Harry Kane is on 6 goals. Kane’s arrival to Old Trafford could see a partnership with the two 24-year-olds take the club to new heights.
Why Manchester United?
Unless the Red Devils can really win something big this season and make the north London giants a huge offer, they do not stand a chance of signing the player, who is also wanted by La Liga champs Real Madrid. Another reason for Kane to either stay with Spurs or join United could be the fact that he might want to stay in England itself and also focus on his international career. Let’s see what he eventually decides to do, one the season concludes.
