Arsenal have been given a huge Viktor Gyokeres warning

Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres, a player who has been making waves in European football. The Swedish forward, 26, has consistently delivered impressive performances since joining Sporting from Coventry City in 2023. His remarkable tally of 43 goals in his debut season was followed by another prolific campaign, during which he has already scored 26 goals, including several hat-tricks. His contributions, such as his recent match-winning strike in a 3-2 victory against Boavista, have helped maintain Sporting’s position at the top of the Primeira Liga.

Manchester United’s interest in Gyökeres has intensified following the arrival of Ruben Amorim, the coach under whom the striker flourished at Sporting. Reports indicate that Gyökeres might welcome a reunion with Amorim despite United’s inconsistent form and their recent significant investments in attacking talent like Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Meanwhile, Arsenal, dealing with scoring struggles that have affected their title ambitions, are also in need of a clinical finisher. Mikel Arteta, who chose not to recruit a striker in the summer, may now consider Gyökeres as the solution to the Gunners’ attacking woes.

Arsenal have been given a huge Viktor Gyokeres warning:

Former Premier League forward Troy Deeney, however, voiced concerns about Gyökeres’ suitability for England’s top flight. Speaking to *talkSPORT*, Deeney expressed doubts about the Swedish striker’s ability to replicate his success in the Premier League, suggesting that while Gyökeres is a hard-working player, he may lack the instinctive finishing required to elevate teams like Arsenal or Manchester United to title-winning levels.

In contrast, former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit offered a different perspective. Speaking to *Gambling Zone*, Petit suggested that Gyökeres would be an ideal fit for Arsenal, claiming the striker could bring qualities that the team currently lacks, such as physical presence and hold-up play. Petit questioned why Gyökeres would opt for Manchester United, a club already stocked with forwards, when Arsenal could offer him a central role in their plans.
