Arsenal Are Ready To Pay Around €50 Million For Real Madrid Player

Arsenal continue to evaluate their options in the transfer market. The sporting management, headed by Edu Gaspar, is determined to strengthen the team’s attack this summer. Although the focus has been on strikers such as Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, and top-class wingers such as Rodrygo Goes, the club has yet to make a definitive move. Doubts about the viability of signing the Brazilian have led the club to explore more accessible alternatives. And in this context, the name of Brahim Díaz has entered the scene with force, boosted also by Mikel Arteta’s knowledge of the player.

Arsenal Are Ready To Pay Around €50 Million For Real Madrid Player

According to Spanish media outlet Defensa Central, the north London outfit have set their sights on Brahim Diaz as a possible reinforcement for their attack. The Real Madrid player has not been an undisputed starter this season, despite racking up 13 goals and assists. Arteta knows Diaz well from their time together at Manchester City and could see him as a valid option if Rodrygo stays at the Bernabeu, as Xabi Alonso appears to want. The report indicates that Arsenal would be willing to pay around €50m for the Moroccan, although no formal progress has yet been made.

Opinion:

Paying €50m for Brahim Diaz may seem risky when compared to other targets. He is not a name that excites at first glance, nor has he proven to have the impact of Rodrygo in key games. But the football market does not always revolve around certainties. The former Milan player’s versatility has value. He can play on both flanks and also behind the striker, something Arteta likes. The Spanish coach tends to place a high value on players capable of adapting to different attacking roles. Still, Brahim is not the ideal left winger the team is looking for. He lacks explosiveness and that constant off-balance that great wingers offer in tight spaces.

If the signing of Rodrygo is blocked and Brahim is released, the deal could make sense. Especially if Madrid make it clear that they are not counting on him on a permanent basis. But if the club has the option of waiting or bidding hard for a higher profile player, such as Rodrygo himself or a talent who guarantees goals from day one, they should consider that route. The pressure to win titles will be enormous next season, and every euro invested needs to have an immediate impact.

In short, Brahim Diaz would not be a mistake, but neither would he be an ambitious gamble. He can bring flexibility, yes, but he does not guarantee a drastic improvement in the starting XI. Arsenal must decide whether they want depth or real punch in the market. If the latter is the priority, then keep pushing for the big names. If there is no margin, then Brahim can be a useful signing. Although, for 50 million, more than usefulness is also expected.
