Arsenal News: Former Midfielder Tips Spaniard To Replace Arteta As Manager

Arsenal Transfer News - Gunners And Tottenham Receive Update On £70m Attacker

Arsenal News: Could Mikel Arteta go to Barcelona and Cesc Fabregas join Arsenal?

Arsenal News continues to dominate the back pages. Former Gunners star Emmanuel Petit thinks Cesc Fabregas would be a great fit to replace Mikel Arteta. This talk comes at a rough time for the club. Arteta currently faces immense pressure after a messy 2-2 draw with Wolves.

Arsenal previously held a commanding lead at the top of the table. However, that draw let Manchester City move within two points of them. Both teams are now getting ready for a huge match at the Etihad. Petit shared his views with BetBrothers, and the Evening Standard later reported that he expects Arteta to eventually manage Barcelona.

The Frenchman thinks Arteta would rather move to a team abroad than join a Premier League rival if he departs the Emirates this summer. Petit believes the Spanish manager might move on no matter how the title race ends. He suggests Arteta wants a new challenge after years of high-pressure football. So, Petit points to 38-year-old Cesc Fabregas as a top choice for the job. Fabregas has done impressive coaching work lately with the Italian team Como.

The current situation suggests a big change could happen if the Gunners go another year without a trophy. Fabregas is making a name for himself as a smart coach. He currently manages Como in Serie A. There, he has a lot of say in how that club signs players and plans for the future.

He is still young for a top manager. However, he knows the Arsenal way of doing things, which makes the board interested. Plenty of fans still talk about how brilliant he was as a player. Petit believes some of Europe’s biggest clubs will monitor his progress closely.

He said, “To be honest, if he is to leave Arsenal, I see him more likely to go abroad than to another Premier League club. So, obviously, I’d say Barca would be his favourite next move if he were to leave Arsenal.

“To be honest, I don’t know what’s best. If he wins, he will leave. If he doesn’t win, he will leave. I don’t know. If he wins, he might continue to increase the number of trophies.”

He added, “I think Cesc Fabregas will take his time because he has everything he needs at Como. He wants players; they bring him players. Whatever he wants, they bring it to him. And that’s allowing him to have that kind of power in the decision-making.

“His former clubs will let managers go, and obviously, Chelsea, Arsenal, I mean, really any club at the top, will be looking at him as an option because he’s doing an incredible job at Como.”

Arsenal must choose between the stability Arteta brings and the new energy a former captain like Fabregas offers. If the Spanish legend keeps doing well in Italy, the lure of a return to England might be too hard for both him and his old club to resist.

Should the Gunners move on from Mikel Arteta this summer?

Analysing the latest Arsenal News requires a look at the tactical struggles that sometimes hurt Arteta in big February matches. He has turned the team into a real title contender. Still, the team keep stumbling late in the season, which makes people wonder if he can handle the final push.

Arsenal currently lead the table with 58 points from 27 games. But Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City loom larger than ever after Arsenal dropped points recently. If the Gunners finish in second place for the fourth year in a row, the board might decide the project has reached its ceiling.

Fabregas brings a fresh outlook. His time at Como shows he can handle big personalities and the tactical side of the modern game. Moving on from Arteta would be a huge risk. But the desperate need for a Premier League trophy might eventually force the club to make a brave change.

The next game against Manchester City will likely decide what people say about this Arsenal News for the rest of the year. Arteta needs to show he can outsmart his old mentor. Doing so would quiet the rumours about his future and Fabregas. Whether the club sticks with what they have or brings back a fan favourite, the choice will certainly shape the next decade of Arsenal football.
