Is This Player The Perfect Replacement For Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez (Not Mkhitaryan)

Reports in England had claimed that Arsenal has agreed to personal terms with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they look to build on their team after Alexis Sanchez moves to Manchester United. It may be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal fans as they look at their club with Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez ready to exit the Emirates stadium. With his departure could arrive another stellar attacker in the form of Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Arsenal.

Sanchez’ contract with Arsenal ends this summer but the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already decided that he is willing to sell the 29-year-old in this winter transfer window to raise funds for the clubs future transfers. The former Barcelona star will leave the north-London outfit as he has not been included in the team sheet over the past few games and he is not willing to extend his contract with Arsenal despite the club pleading him to do so.

Since Sanchez arrived at Arsenal for a fee of £31.8 million in 2014 from La Liga giants Barcelona, he has gone on to make 122 league appearances and scored 60 times for the Gunners. But now Wenger must sell his prized asset before he leaves for free in the summer, and Premier League rivals Manchester United are the closest to winning the race for his signature after local neighbors Manchester City have pulled out the plug on the Sanchez deal.

However, there is a silver lining following the Sanchez saga, as Dortmund hit-man Aubameyang is now the prime target for Wenger as a replacement for the stellar forward. Aubameyang has been in sensational form for the black and yellow’s and is banging on goals for fun in the Bavarian outfit.

Similarly the Dortmund striker, like Sanchez, is pushing for a move away from his current club. Aubameyang’s disciplinary issues have been a huge problem for the Dortmund board to control and they have literally termed his behavior as ‘unacceptable’. He is currently suspended for his actions and the fans have wanted the club to get rid of the former AC Milan forward.

There is no denying the quality that Aubameyang possesses and he is a natural goal-scorer, one that Arsenal have been struggling to find since signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon this summer. Aubameyang is one of the fastest players in the world which is a hugely positive trait to possess as he can ghost pass opposing defenders with ease. In 143 appearances for Dortmund in the league, Aubameyang has scored 98 times, since his arrival at the club in 2013.

He is also still only 28 and can provide a big threat up-front for Arsenal as they would look to replace Sanchez with the goal-scoring Aubameyang.

He has scored a total of 13 times in just as many as 15 Bundesliga appearances this season and another eight goals in other competitions as he has established himself as a top marksman in Europe. The Arsenal fans will be buzzing and hoping that this deal goes through.
