Look! What Sir Alex Ferguson Told About New Manchester United Signing Eight Years Ago. Alexis Sanchez has finally completed his much awaited move and has joined Manchester United and Henrik Mkhitaryan has gone the other way in a bizarre player + cash exchange deal.
This move is certainly a great one pulled of by the Gunners not only did they get former Borussia Dortmund man Mkhitaryan they also got a decent £30m on a player whose contract would run out in six months and Manchester United could have signed him for nothing.
Sir Alex Ferguson is regarded as one of the greatest football manager and he is responsible for bringing in some of football’s greatest players like Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo this list doesn’t end.
He had a brilliant knack of spotting talents and he once missed a United game and went to scout David De Gea and look how good that deal is proving to be for the Red Devils.
Sir Alex had sent scouts to watch Alexis Sanchez play in 2010 when the Chilean was playing for Serie A side Udinese. In an interview he said ” We have watched Alexis Sanchez and he really has caught our attention. But we have also been impressed by a few other talents. Sanchez has played very well in the last few matches and is an interesting prospect for the future”
“We have gathered some important background information about him and few other players at his level, but that’s it for the moment”
” We have seen a few other Chileans play in the past and the one that caught are attention was Salas, he had a brilliant World Cup in France 1998 but he played for Lazio.
” He would’ve been a great addition to our squad back then”
The two time Copa America champion played for Serie A outfit Udinese and went on to join European Giants FC Barcelona in 2011 and left after 3 season for Premier League side Arsenal in 2014/15 season.
Alexis Sanchez with this move has become the highest paid player in the Premier League but will this move prove to be the best only time will tell. Jose Mourinho did lack in quality attacking options and Sanchez is a big upgrade but will the Portuguese utilise him better we don’t know that yet.
Armenia international Henrik Mkhitaryan will add much provided quality to Arsene Wenger’s side and the attacking midfielder is capable to play in a wider position, if the Gunners do manage to land Borussia Dortmund superstar Pierre-Emrick Aubameyang then it’ll be a great transfer activity done by the North Londoners in a while as both Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang have played with each other in the past and have a good understanding of each others game.
The Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also reluctant to let their main man go but have also made it clear to Arsenal that they will not accept an offer below €60m and also want a replacement in Olivier Giroud. Will Arsene give a green light to this deal, only time will tell.
