There are recent reports claiming that Chelsea is planning on letting their talisman Eden Hazard leave the club for the Santiago Bernabeu. The Blues are looking to replace the flying Belgian with another Galactico in the form of Marco Asensio. The young Spaniard is one of the rising stars in today’s world of football but is not getting enough of playing time under French boss Zinedine Zidane. A move to Chelsea could be on the cards as the young superstar is wanted at Stamford Bridge by under-fire manager Antonio Conte.
Chelsea has had a horrendous run of form of late and Italian manager Antonio Conte has come under severe pressure from the Chelsea board and fans after a poor string of humiliating results. The former Juventus boss has not been able to replicate the same form from his side this season after guiding the Blues to the Premier League title last term.
An underwhelming transfer window in the summer did not give Chelsea the reinforcements they required for a stable title defense. And with main attacker Eden Hazard refusing to pen a new deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit, Chelsea will know they need another world class player to replace the brilliant 27-year-old.
The Blues may be happy with the player lined up to replace Hazard, who is Real Madrid’s own wonder-kid, Marco Asensio. The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent in the limited appearances he has made under Zidane but is desperate for a long run of games, hungry for game-time.
Chelsea is aware of the interest the Los Blancos have in Hazard, and can use this exchange card with Asensio to lure the Spanish youngster to Stamford Bridge. Asensio has already made it a habit of scoring stunning goals and has built up his reputation as one of the hottest properties in Europe. His close dribbling and skills have given Madrid second thoughts about selling him in the summer, but such a talented attacker should not be wasted on the bench.
Real Madrid has set their eyes set on Eden Hazard as the possible successor for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo or Welsh winger Gareth Bale. Along with skill and the ability to leave opposing defenders in his wake, Hazard is amazing at creating chances and has taken his game to the next level over the past few seasons. He has been Chelsea’s go-to man on several occasions and would be able to add a boost to Madrid’s attack as they are struggling for form in the La Liga this season.
The west London outfit, under Antonio Conte, are also unable to defend their Premier League title this season and will be struggling to even finish in the top 4 and are eager to keep a hold of Hazard after the FIFA World Cup in Russia during the summer. They will also be desperate to add new young faces at the club to build a stronger team for next season. Real Madrid will face PSG in the round of 16 of UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
