3 Reasons Why Morata Is Better Than Lukaku, As Chelsea Face Manchester United At The Weekend

Chelsea will play against Manchester United on Sunday in Premier League and we are now analysising two top strikers of the two top teams to consider who is better than the other one. Morata and Lukaku both were the major Summer transfer window targets for two of England’s best clubs Chelsea and Manchester United. Lukaku was primarily linked with United and Morata with United. But surprisingly Lukaku signed for Manchester United and Morata preferred Chelsea.  The discussion is now really on that who will finish as the highest goal scorer after the completion of this season. The reasons why Morata has a better chance than Lukaku are:

1. Morata’s Big Club Experience :

Alvaro Morata had served two periods of his career till date in Real Madrid and helped Juventus to go to the Final of UEFA Champions League in 2014-15 season. He was also in the Champions League winning squad last season for Real Madrid. The Spanish Striker is more habituated with the big matches and has a vast experience of playing in Champions League whereas Lukaku has only played for Everton in the Premier League. The Belgian International had scored 20 plus goals last season for Everton but most of his goals came against the clubs outside the renowned top six clubs of Premier League. So,he had a record of failing to perform against the big clubs. From this perspective Morata is way ahead of Lukaku.

2. Morata’s Better Hold Up Play :

Morata is a better ball player than Lukaku. The first touch of Lukaku is very much poor which is surely one of his weaknesses as a Striker. On the other hand Morata’s sense of receiving the ball is quite good. He has a great quality of following a ball perfectly. His position sense is also up to the mark which is one of those qualities which a Striker should possess. Lukaku is much a forward who has a good shooting power from the penalty box. The passing quality of the Belgian forward is not that much good also while Morata’s passing quality is quite good and he can create the movements with the ball. He can go deep in the field in search of ball if the others aren’t able to create a movement. His hold up play is really good and he can create some chances of Goal for the other players too. So, in this perspective also Morata is a better player than Lukaku.

3. Morata’s Heading Quality and Solo Run Ability :

Alvaro Morata’s heading quality is sensational and he has already scored most of his 10 Premier League goals of this season for Chelsea with his head. His Solo Run ability and the quality of dribbling the defenders with ease is also giving Morata the edge over Lukaku. It sounds very much obvious that Morata will finish as the top scorer of the Premier League this season and will help Chelsea to win Premier League once again in this season.

Romelu Lukaku has scored 12 Goals for United this season but Morata scored the winner against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. So it’s difficult to compare this two players. Morata will be slightly ahead due to some of his attributes.
