Kevin De Bruyne is a Belgian footballer who plays for the English club Manchester City. Kevin mainly fits into the Manchester City team as a central or an attacking midfielder but can also play as a winger or second striker. He has been in terrific form for the Pep Guardiola’s brigade this season. With a pass accuracy of 84 percent , Kevin has 14 goals and 7 assists this season so far.

Bruyne kicked off his career with club KVV Drongen, his hometown club in the year 2003. After two seasons he joined Gent and moved to Genk in the year 2005. The current City star continued to develop and hone his skills in their youth system and was rewarded for his progress by being promoted to the first team squad in 2008.

In the year 2012, he joined English club Chelsea, where he was used sparingly and then loaned to German club Werder Bremen. He signed on the dotted line for Wolfsburg for a fee of £18m in 2014, and in 2015 he was named Footballer of the Year in Germany. Later that season , he joined Manchester City for a club record £54m.

This club record fee made him the second most expensive transfer in British history back then , after Argentine playmaker Angel Di Maria’s transfer to Manchester United in 2014.

From being a Chelsea discard to being the starman of Manchester City , Kevin De Bruyne has come a long way . His development was appreciated and has frequently led to the media, coaches, and colleagues ranking him among the best players in Europe, and has often been described as a “complete” footballer. He was even ranked the fourth-best footballer in the world by The Guardian in 2017.

He was even praised by Pep Guardiola who isn’t much into praising players unless they are truly exceptional12. Pep once said said “I think he is a special, outstanding player. He makes everything. Bruyne could’ve actually played for another country . His mother Anna De Bruyne , a petroleum engineering professional was born in Burundi . A country in Eastern Africa where she spent a lot time before her marriage . Owing to her lineage , Kevin had the choice of playing for Burundi . However, he chose Red Devils over the African nation .

Kevin De Bruyne is known for his phenomenal conquests on field but he is a very calm person . He is known for keeping his cool and barely loses it . He barely shows emotion and is also known to send dry replies to Whatsapp texts . So his friends nicknamed him as “Tumble dryer”

Kevin De Bruyne has a clothing line of his own . Known by the name “KDB” , it is associated with a firm named Cult Eleven. A part of the profits are sent to organisation named Special Olympics. An organisation that funds people with special abilities in the field of sports.

Kevin De Bruyne wrote his own biography in collaboration with author Raoul De Groote. The book titled “Keep It Simple ” released in October 2014 . The book reflects the personal and professional life of the footballer . His parents stated that Kevin wants everything to be simple in life. Hence the name of the book is keep it simple .

In the year 2013, the Daily Mail had stated that his Chelsea teammate, Courtois had an affair with De Bruyne’s girlfriend Caroline Lijnen. De Bruyne attacked the goalkeeper when training with the Belgian international team, but reconciled with him after.

As time went by, De Bruyne recovered and has been dating Michèle Lacroix since 2014, who announced on 28 September 2015 that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. Mason Milian De Bruyne was eventually born on the 10th of March 2016 and the star married Lacroix in June 2017.

Kevin De Bruyne is an avid bird watcher and is a lover of nature . He is known to spent hours roaming the countryside and observing wildlife .

He was even made the ambassador of Weltvogelpark Bird Sanctuary in Germany . It is located in Walsrode , Germany and is the largest bird sanctuary in the world . It is home to nearly 675 species .
