Arsenal Get Major Update On Signing This Youngster, With Top Teams Involved In Transfer Battle

Another youngster. Another hunt to pick the young blood. Beside their own academies, scouts of different clubs all over the world try to catch the best young blood with potential to flourish and ingrowth his side. Sander Berge is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for K.R.C. Genk in the Belgian First Division A. He is only 20, but his foot-work will definitely leave you ‘jaw dropped’.

Premier League sides like Arsenal and Everton has been linked with the Genk player, where Real Betis is seemed clinch the deal surpassing them. Arsenal and Everton were after this midfielder since last year. Arsenal also proposed a deal of £18m nine months ago, though it never went further.

The Norwegian has been becoming a subject of talks and interests since last year, but what is all the fuss about? Let’s try to put some meat in the skeleton that may progress beyond the transfer rumours and gossips.

At 20, Berge is already a full senior international. With his magical moves in the field, he has already drawn attentions from various clubs across the continents for his intelligence and composure both in and out of possession that belies his tender years.

Berge belongs from a basketball family. His father, Swedish mother and old brother all have played basketball at International level. For those who may not know it already, he is also the grandson of Ragnar Berge, who himself used to play as a left-back for Vålerenga from 1945 until 1957. He was also capped once by Norway back in 1955.

Premier may have seen many Norwegian baby-faced assassin in the past, but Berge is a baby monster! At 6’5″, he looks like the roof of the midfield, but he has got a mature head in his sizeable shoulders. He knows how to use his body both in offense and defense. He filled the void space of Wilfred Ndidi quite perfectly, who left back in January.

He was signed for less than £2m just six month ago and it seems the club could land ten times by selling him.

As Arsenal is again believed to be in the hunt for midfield reinforcement, he would be a potential future supplement. With Santi Cazorla’s injurious season, the likes of Elneny and Xhaka haven’t had the impact that the fans would have hoped for. Berge fits this Arsenal side adding an intelligence in the midfield, which is simply missing among the Gunners.

The fight to sign him for Arsenal would a tough one, as Real Betis are in ahead of them signing the Norweighner. Genk has already slammed an amount of £13m and they won’t settle for a price anything lesser than that.

Arsenal is now struggling at sixth position in Premier League with 48 points, though had a great win in today’s home match against Watford. Two winter buyouts Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan scored today along with Mustafi. Cech saved a quality penalty. Arsenal also had a great match in Europa League clash against AC Milan, where had a 2-0 away goal lead and will have them in home next on 16th this month.
