The Gunners never rest. When there is a transfer window coming near, the team who are most linked with rumours is Arsenal. It has been a devastating season for the Gunners, while they might not get a chance to finish in top 4. Arsenal seems tired and struggling at 8th position with 8 points behind from Chelsea in 5th position in Premier League. The side seem not to get the tickets of Champions League until they win the Europa this term, where they looked strong last time beating AC Milan, reaching the “round of eight”. Despite of that, fans are already furious by their performance in English League and want a fresh start. The retention of French manager Arsene Wenger is questionable, but the vintage man seems to be working hard in re-modelling the team’s wayouts.
Winter has seen two great deals done by Arsenal. The arrival of Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan is undoubtedly the best they got this season. Wenger couldn’t stop Alexis Sanchez go, but successfully retained Mesut Ozil with contract renewal. This time, as the Summer seeks closure, Arsenal is rumoured to be linked with another star player of Manchester United after Mkhitaryan. Arsenal wants Anthony Martial this time and the news is growing bigger and bigger by day.
It is known by all that, Wenger wanted Martial in exchange of Sanchez back in winter, but the United manager Jose Mourinho somehow managed to send Mkhitaryan instead of the France forward. Though this time the situation is quite different. The agent of the 22-year-old forward has refused to continue his player’s future at Old Trafford and fuelling speculations about his move to Emirates.
Martial has been linked several times before to other European teams in recent months after failing to impress Jose Mourinho. After arrival of Sanchez and uprising performances of Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, Anthony Martial has been poised to bench gradually. He is not getting enough match time and as the World Cup is some footsteps away, it portrayed a greater problem for him. It seems Manchester United doesn’t need the forward anymore and the upcoming Summer may witness his departure from the Red Devils’ gang.
On the other hand, Arsenal scouts have been watching him for years, though Juventus may cash their money too for this young talent. Martial’s representative Philippe Lamboley said to a Italian newspaper agent that he can’t say anything at this moment, which depicts his uncertainty at Old Trafford.
Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 for £36m and struggling to get the place in the squad ahead of Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku. If the management agrees to sell him out may charge a similar amount.
Martial had a pretty good start in this season, but somehow the run got fatigue afterwards. He has managed to score 12 times along with 7 assists, which is better from last season, but may be not enough for the ‘Heritage’ of Manchester United. Martial may leave United this summer and that would be pretty much open gate for him as the new club may provide him more chances that what he needs the most right now.
