Former England international Terry Butcher has adviced Manchester United’s young striker Marcus Rashford to stay at Old Trafford and learn more in order to grow as a top player. The former Rangers and Sunderland star pointed this out, with the 20 year old attacker struggling this term to make an impact under Jose Mourinho, after previously making a huge impression for the Red Devils.
There were rumours going around that the star might think about leaving the club and pursuing regular football elsewhere, as he has not been able to secure a first team spot, since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, who has been the preferred choice on the left.
Though he has not really been in the best form, he has also struggled to get enough game-time to make a real impression, with the Portuguese boss preferring the Chilean international, who was one of the best players for Arsenal.
Due to this, the young Englishman has found it tough to replace Sanchez and Lukaku up front in the playing eleven and has been having a tough time at The Theatre of Dreams, proving his worth yet again.
With the former Everton man out with an ankle injury for the game against Brighton, Rashford now has the chance to make an impact and regain his spot in the playing eleven regularly.
With that being said, Butcher has adviced the youngster to take advantage of this opportunity and make the most of it for his future, in his recent interview with Starsport.
This may encourage the United star to take this opportunity and impress the manager and the fans and he might drop the idea of leaving completely, if there was any truth to those claims in the first place.
The attacker has so far made a total of 75 appearances, scoring 16 goals in the top flight of English football, though there is a long-long way to go in his career as well.
He will one of the stars to watch out for in the World Cup in Russia as well and it will be interesting to see whether he lives up to the expectations or succumbs to the pressure.
A good long run with United would be great for his confidence and this injury could be a blessing in disguise for him and he could look to make the most of it, if he indeed has plans of remaining with the English giants.
There are a lot of clubs including the likes of Arsenal and more, who are keen on signing him, which is why the growing concern about his future.
Mourinho will want this asset to remain at the club, though if Rashford does want to go, he will have no choice but to try to cash in on him and make the most of the deal.
Nothing is certain in the world of football and the fans would be hoping that he can score a few goals against Brighton in the league and make a comeback that will not just help him at the domestic level, but for the upcoming World Cup too.
