Chelsea Want This World Cup Sensation This Summer, As An Upgrade To Willian?

The Blues are keen on signing Russian star midfielder Aleksandr Golovin and the players’ mother has already confirmed interest from Chelsea football club. As Chelsea have finished outside the top four in the Premier League this season, the West London club will not be eligible to play in the Champions League next term. Missing out on the elite competition will prove to be a difficult summer transfer window as Chelsea should find it difficult to keep hold of their star players at Stamford Bridge.

Club talisman Eden Hazard has been on Real Madrid’s radar for quite a while and the Belgian winger could finally depart for the Santiago Bernabeu this window. The Champions League holders see Hazard as the successor to Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo, who could be possibly heading for an exit from the club himself.

He is not the only player who is said to be leaving the former champs of England. Even Willian is bound to leave Stamford Bridge after the tournament in Russia, with fierce rivals Manchester United and even Barcelona monitoring the Brazilian’s situation.

Chelsea is preparing to line up replacements for their two key players and a new name has come up in the hat. This time it is Russian sensation Aleksandr Golovin, who has been the man to guide his nation into the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.

His impressive performances for Russia have caught the eye of Premier League suitors Chelsea and the Blues have already lined up a bid to take him away from CSKA Moscow.

Golovin’s mother confirmed the interest from the English outfit Chelsea but also added that her son is focused on achieving glory with his national side Russia at the grandest stage of them all. Speaking to news outlet the Sun, Svetlana said, “Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details. Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here. For now, everyone loves my Sacha, even those who before didn’t care about football. His biggest fan is his 83-year-old grandmother – she does not miss a single match.”

The 22-year-old winger Aleksandr Golovin went on to add praise for his national compatriot Igor Akinfeev, after the rather crazy penalty kicks against Spain which saw them growing through to the quarter final.

Golovin further added that he himself was afraid of stepping up that showed his composure against one of the best keepers in the world in the form of David De Gea.

He spoke about his experience and how it was a good learning phase for him and what he can now do in the tournament. Further, if he continues to perform the way that he has done so far, not just the west Londoners but a lot of big clubs will chase him in the days to come.

Golovin looks like a promising talent and could do well in the Premier League but Chelsea needs to make sure that they lure his services in before other European suitors start bidding for the young Russian midfielder.

A fee of £27m is on the cards in order to lure Golovin to Stamford Bridge, though whether it will be enough now or not, remains to be seen. This transfer saga could be a really key one, as the player keeps building up his reputation with each single performance that he puts for his national team.
