The Blues are ready to make a bid for AS Roma’s Alisson Becker, Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain, and CSKA Moscow’s Aleksandr Golovin this summer transfer window. Chelsea had a rather disastrous campaign last season as their title defense ended in horror. The West London club finished the season on fifth place on the Premier League table outside the top four, which meant that they were ineligible to qualify for Champions League football next term. This is also going to be an extremely difficult summer for the Blues as they will have to fend off competition from European rival clubs to keep hold of their star players.
Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois decided against signing a contract extension with Chelsea and the club are now aware that they need to find a suitable replacement for the 26-year-old. Courtois is linked with a move back to the Spanish capital with Real or Atletico Madrid eager for his services. But Chelsea has lined up a move for AS Roma’s Allison Becker in order to replace Courtois between the sticks. The Brazilian has had an incredible season at the Italian capital and has attracted a lot of interest from elite clubs who are monitoring his situation. Chelsea though is ready to snatch him from AS Roma for a fee of £66m. However, Roma is not keen on selling their prized asset for anything under £80m Alisson still has three years left on his contract.
Alvaro Morata has had a horrendous debut season in England with Chelsea and looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer. The Spaniard got off to a decent start but has suffered a terrible dip in form after a back injury. The 25-year-old is likely to be replaced by Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain as the Argentine is keen on a new challenge in his career. With Maurizio Sarri set to take over the reins at Chelsea, the Italian wants to reunite with Higuain as the pair worked together at Napoli. Under Sarri, Higuain scored a record 36 goals in the Serie A and Chelsea are buzzing with the possible arrival of the duo.
Chelsea may also lose talisman Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer as the Los Blancos will be looking to lure the Belgian to the Santiago Bernabeu. Hazard is deemed to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor at the Spanish capital as the 27-year-old has proved his worth in gold for Chelsea. And his replacement is also still at the FIFA World Cup. Aleksandr Golovin has been arguably Russia’s best player in the grand tournament and the 22-year-old has drawn heavy interest from Chelsea. The Blues are eyeing Golovin as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard as the CSKA Moscow is ready to step into the big boots of a Premier League club.
Sarri has just taken over the west Londoners and these signings can make his team champions in the seasons to come. They will also be keen on making a return to the Champions League in the upcoming campaign, after they failed to finish in the top four in the last season that Conte was incharge.
