Paul Scholes Lashes Out At Paul Pogba, After Manchester United’s Loss Against Brighton

Pogba

Manchester United’s legendary midfielder was clearly unhappy with the performance of their skipper Paul Pogba in the defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Falmer Stadium. Manchester United’s captain Paul Pogba admitted that his attitude was not right in that match along with his teammates just after the end of the match. But according to the Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, there is no justification of this comment made by Paul Pogba. Paul Scholes has won 11 Premier League titles for Manchester United and he was shocked with the fashion of defeat of the Red Devils against Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to the Manchester United Legend, the captain of the Red Devils needs to step up in these situations to inspire his team. The manager can not always motivate the players to get their attitude right. Manchester United players have shown lack of urgency for coming back into the match after getting 3-1 down in the first half of the match. Glen Murray has opened the score-sheet for Brighton and Hove Albion with a brilliant flick over David De Gea.

Few minutes later, the centre back of Brighton, Shane Duffy has scored from a set piece movement. The Belgian centre forward of Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku has tried to reduce the gap with scoring from a close range header. But, Eric Bailly has tripped Pascal Groẞ in the penalty box. Pascal Groẞ has made no mistake to convert the penalty into a Goal. Paul Pogba has scored from a penalty kick at the 94th minute of the match. But it was too late for Manchester United to make a comeback from that position.

The midfield of Manchester United seemed to be the weakest link of this side as there were no penetration by the United midfielders in the whole match. There were no real urgency shown by the players of Manchester United to go forward and put pressure on the Brighton’s defense. The inclusion of Marouane Fellaini in the field did not improve the situation for Manchester United. Their strategy of playing long balls to the attackers has been outclassed completely by the good passing football played by Brighton and Hove Albion throughout the whole match.

The Red Devils have to sort out their problems very quickly to come back in the title race. Manchester United did not have a good transfer window. They were not able to get the players they wanted in this summer transfer window and the effect is clearly shown. Manchester United’s players have to show their character to get back into the title race along with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in this season.

In the press conference, the manager of Jose Mourinho has stated that their own mistakes have let them down in this match. The manager needs to address the problems of the team very quickly before the match against Tottenham Hotspur on next Monday. Otherwise, one bad result from here on will surely raise many questions over the future of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
