The Four Main Reasons Why Manchester City Just Could Not Beat Wolves

Manchester City

The Premier League title holders Manchester City were held by the team promoted from the Championship- Wolves. Wolves have shown their class at their home ground by taking 2 points away from Manchester City in the third game-week of Premier League. It is the beauty of Premier League as here any small team can snatch points from the big teams on their day. Boly’s header gave Wolves the lead in the match but later it was cancelled out by Aymeric Laporte’s header. Here are the talking points of the match between Manchester City and Wolves :

4. Mendy’s Throw In :

Benjamin Mendy’s throw in was one of the laughable moments of the match. Benjamin Mendy tried to throw the ball in the field running from the back. But it was too long as Mendy’s foot came inside the sideline of the field. The presence of Benjamin Mendy in the defense of Manchester City is giving them a real benefit in this season. Today also, Benjamin Mendy has provided two clear cut chances. One of them was missed by the substitute Gabriel Jesus.

3. Poor Selection By Pep Guardiola :

Pep Guardiola is probably having the problem of many in his squad. The manager is not able to find out his best possible XI till date. In three matches of Premier League, Pep Guardiola has fielded three different starting lineups for three different games. But in any of those Leroy Sane was present. Though, Leroy Sane was unable to do anything today against Wolves. But a player like him should be there in the starting eleven. Same thing goes for Riyad Mahrez too. Manchester City have signed the star winger from Leicester City in this summer transfer window. The player came into the field at the 85th minute of the match. It was impossible for Mahrez to provide an impact in the match in such short period of time.
