Manchester United Vs Tottenham : Preview Of The Biggest Game Of Mourinho’s Season So Far, As Spurs Have Lloris Issues

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday in the third game week of the Premier League. The Red Devils will be eyeing to bounce back in the Premier League after the shocking defeat against Brighton And Hove Albion in the previous match-day. But the task will not be easy for them as they will face Tottenham Hotspur in this match. Tottenham Hotspur have won both games in the Premier League so far and they will wish to continue with their dream run against Manchester United too. Both the clubs are trying to settle down a bit in the new season. So, no one will wish to take more risks in this match.

Team News :

Manchester United :

Manchester United’s manager Jose Mourinho has recalled his two players Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia in training after the shock defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion in the previous weekend. Alexis Sanchez should also be able to make the cut in the starting lineup of Manchester United as he is all set to return on Monday. Alexis Sanchez was having a slight injury and that’s why he did not travel with the squad of Manchester United in the previous weekend to play against Brighton and Hove Albion. But now he is badly needed for the club.

De Gea will be under the bars for Manchester United in this match against Tottenham Hotspur. Jose Mourinho might opt to play with 3 centre backs in this big match. So, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof should make it to the first eleven of  Manchester United in this match. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic will return in the midfield. So that means that Fred will surely be benched in this match. Anthony Martial also needs to sit at the bench as Alexis Sanchez will return in the starting lineup of Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur :

Tottenham Hotspur’s captain Hugo Lloris was caught for drunk driving few days back. The club management of Tottenham Hotspur are not happy with the attitude of the French World Cup winner. So, Lloris might be dropped from the starting lineup in this match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino will also opt to go with three centre backs in this match against Manchester United. There will surely be the presence of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Davidson Sanchez in the defensive unit of Tottenham Hotspur in this match. Davies and Kieran Trippier will play as two wing backs in this match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. While, Lucas Moura will seal his place in the starting lineup of Tottenham Hotspur as Heung Min Son will be busy for his National side South Korea in Asian Games.

Predicted Starting Eleven :

Manchester United (3-4-1-2):

Goalkeeper : De Gea

Defenders : Bailly, Smalling, Lindelof

Midfielders : Valencia, Matic, Pogba, Shaw

Attackers : Lingard; Lukaku, Sanchez.

Tottenham Hotspur (3-3-2-2):

Goalkeeper : Vorm

Defenders : Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen

Midfielders : Trippier, Dier, Davies; Eriksen, Alli.

Attackers : Moura, Kane.

My Predicted Scoreline :

Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
