Serie A giants AC Milan are now considering a move for Manchester United star Anthony Martial, as confirmed by reports. The attacker has not been given regular game time in recent seasons under Jose Mourinho and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with the Portuguese boss taking him off at the hour mark in the 3-2 loss to Brighton. A lot of clubs have wanted to sign him, as they know that he is still quite young and has a lot of quality.
According to the story in Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via The Mirror), the 22 year old French international still does not look happy with the Premier League giants and is considering a move away from Manchester. The rift between him and the former Chelsea and Real Madrid match was growing and there are a lot of rumours going around the tabloids back then.
He can still leave the club if he wishes to, as the European transfer window shuts on the 31st of August. However, if he does leave, the Red Devils will not be able to sign a replacement for him till January, as the window in England has already shut.
With that being said, Milan have made an enquiry for the player and are considering on signing him, after a really positive transfer window already. They are trying to rebuild a strong squad now under Gennaro Gattuso and wish to add some more top quality stars, with the Frenchman on their wish-list.
Manager Jose Mourinho has not been giving him enough game-time and was upset with the team’s pre-season loss to Liverpool. Despite that, the 22 year old superstar left the tour mid-way to witness the birth of his baby and did not make it back on time.
This made things worse between the two and it seems that he might be all set to leave The Theatre of Dreams in the days to follow, though nothing still seems certain as to when. The January transfer window might also be an option, if he sticks to The Theatre of Dreams for now.
Though he may not be happy at present, the Portuguese manager should try to reconcile with the player and make things right, as he is in need of each and every star that he can get. He will surely need Martial for the various competitions that his team takes part in and can let go of the player in the January transfer window, if he still wants to leave at that point of time.
On the other hand, the forward should try his best to earn a place in the playing eleven, with the chances that he gets for United this term. Things are not looking good for the club as of now and it is players like Martial, who can really make a difference to their cause.
He will want to revive his career after failing to impress the Portuguese manager in recent times, who will not at all be happy with the way his team has started the new campaign.
