According to shocking reports off late, European Champions Real Madrid are ready to sell Gareth Bale in the upcoming January transfer window with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on red alert. The Welsh international’s consistent injuries are stalling his potential and consistency but Bale has no plans of moving away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming winter transfer window.
How strange is football? A few months back late in May, Gareth Bale came off the bench for Real Madrid and scored two stunning goals against Liverpool to hand the La Liga giants their third successive Champions League title. The Superstar winger was poised to leave the club after failing to cement his spot in Zinedine Zidane’s team but became an instant favorite once again. Right now, after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo and the departure of Zidane, Bale has not been at his best due to injury problems and lack of form. And it seems that Madrid president Florentino Perez and the rest of the board are already prepared to offload the Welsh international in the upcoming transfer window despite Bale netting four times and laying off 2 assists as well.
Manchester United are currently struggling in the Premier League and Jose Mourinho has to look into the transfer market for re-enforcements or else his side may not make the top 4. The Portuguese boss was keen on signing Gareth Bale a few windows ago but Real Madrid made it clear that their pacey winger was not leaving the Spanish capital for any price. However, this time around, United may stand the best of chances to lure Bale to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho could use Anthony Martial as well as a few other fringe players for a swap deal in January.
Chelsea is currently enjoying life under new manager Maurizio Sarri as the Blues sit on 2nd place in the Premier League table, joint top with Manchester City and Liverpool on 20 points each.
However, one major issue that lies around the club is the possible rumors of talisman Eden Hazard wanting to leave Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid in the January transfer window. The 27-year-old has made it public that joining Real Madrid would mean that his dream has come true. This sparked rumors that Hazard would be on his way to Madrid in January. In return for the Belgian starlet, Chelsea would want a star quality player in return in the form of Gareth Bale.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur did not make a single summer signing and could potentially shock everyone with trying to lure Bale back to his former club. The North London giants have improved steadily season after season and may need the top quality player if they are to win trophies for the club. Bale has the experience and could lift Tottenham to the next level.
However, the report also claims that Bale is not keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu just yet and wants to fight for his place in the starting eleven which makes things a little more interesting as we head back to club football in a few days time.
