Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal handed huge boost as one of their prime targets wants to leave his current club and the deal could happen as early as in the January transfer window. The growing tension regarding young Frenchman Ousmane Dembele at the Camp Nou is certainly going the wrong way and something which the other clubs interested in him will take advantage of it. The World Cup winner is yet to find his fee for the Blaugrana and with consistent health issues and injuries, life in Spain has not been kind to the 20-year old winger.
He burst into the scene from Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais and he impressed German giants Borussia Dortmund dso much that they snapped him back in 2016 and the Frenchman was a revelation at the Signal Iduna Park. The ambidextrous winger slowly made his name in Europe and with impressive performances week in week out in the Bundesliga, he was attracting interest from several clubs all around Europe.
According to reputed news outlet Goal, the Frenchman has asked Barcelona officials to let him leave when the transfer window re-opens in January. Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal are heavily linked with the World Cup winner and after this report, both the English clubs will feel that they have a chance to snap their prime target this winter.
The Reds have kept a close tab on Dembele right from the start of the distress at Spain. Klopp seems he is still interested in the player, even after receiving an ambiguous reply to the rumours of a potential switch to Anfield by the Catalans. There are also reports which link a dramatic return for Paris Saint Germain talisman Neymar to Barcelona. The Dembele deal is also well knitted with the dramatic return of the Brazilian as per reports suggest.
The 20-year old winger can also be a huge reinforcement for Arsenal. Spanish coach Unai Emery has always spoken about his talent and would love to have a player of calibre at the Emirates. Plus the Spaniard will look to fill the void left by Danny Welbeck’s long-term injury and someone like Dembele will be a game-changing transfer for the Gunners. Reports from SPORT suggest that the French winger could make a move to Emirates if the Gunners agree to pay a sum of around €100m in the summer.
Although, with the growing tension surrounding him in Catalunya, Dembele’s health issues and attitude has been questioned time and again and something which no football wants lingering in their head. So a move out of Camp Nou could happen in this Winter transfer window.
Dembele was involved in Barcelona’s recent clash against PSV Eindhoven, where Valverde and his men edged out a 2-1 win in the UEFA Champions League to secure a place in the round of 16 of Europe’s elite competition. The Frenchman was last time on target during their 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the latest La Liga fixture. The goal in the crucial fixture marks his seventh goal for the club this season.
Dembele was also called up by Didier Deschamps to represent the Les Blues in the international break at the UEFA Nations League but could not inspire his team to make to the finals which was eventually reached by the Netherlands.
