A rumour from the Spanish media claims that Barcelona is interested in acquiring Manu Trigueros, a midfielder who will become a free agent next summer.
The hunt for a centre midfielder for Barcelona has led them to Villarreal, according to a report by the Spanish source Fichajes. As a result, Manu Trigueros has surfaced as a possible Bosman target for the Catalan giants, despite the fact that the 29-year-old is entering the last year of his present deal.
A year after joining Villarreal from Real Murcia, Manu Trigueros has established himself as one of the most dependable midfielders in La Liga. With 387 games for the Yellow Submarine under his belt, the Spaniard has amassed a total of 29 goals and 34 assists in his career thus far.
Villarreal is in a dangerous position regarding the future of the 29-year-old. He has reached the last year of his contract with the club. The situation is not as dire for the player. His current position has attracted the attention of many La Liga teams. Barcelona is one of those interested in acquiring him.

Following their decision not to bring in a replacement despite selling Ilaix Moriba and Miralem Pjanic, Barcelona has found themselves in the position of urgently seeking an attacking central midfielder (on loan). Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Pedri have all had their workload increased as a result of this.
A similar scenario has also led Ronald Koeman to place his faith in young players like Gavi and Nico Gonzalez. Despite that, the fact is that this is far from an ideal position for Barcelona. As a consequence, they are now scouting the market for a midfielder. Franck Kessie is among the names that have recently come to their attention.
The likes of Trigueros are also a feasible option for Barcelona. They would be further enticed by the fact that he may become a free agent in the summer of 2019. Apart from the 29-year-old, Barcelona is also interested in Ander Herrera and Ryan Gravenberch. Both would need significant financial investment to get them to the club.
This means that the Blaugrana will have to decide if they want to prioritise a move for Trigueros above a move for Bosman in the summer transfer window. Or if they want to pursue one of the other alternatives on their radar. For the time being, the only thing that is known is that Barcelona is in urgent need of a central midfielder. That is to strengthen their squad.
ABOUT THE PLAYER:
He started his professional career with Real Murcia. That was where he made his senior debut with the reserves until being released in June 2010. This was after the club’s relegation from the second level. Trigueros was born in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Following that, he signed with Villarreal CF, where he was assigned to the C squad.
Villarreal B lost 2–1 away to Real Betis in the second division on June 4, 2011. Trigueros made his official debut in the game for 30 minutes. The following month, he scored his first goal in a 1–3 loss against CE Sabadell FC, a club that had been relatively underused during the season but was relegated despite finishing in 12th place since the first team had already gone down a division in La Liga.
Trigueros was unquestionably promoted to the main squad in June of that year. In the first year after the tragedy, he played 36 games and scored three goals. He helped by contributing to the Yellow Submarine’s come back to the place where they had come from. The player could be a great asset for Barcelona if the Catalan giants can actually sign him.
