The star centre-forward of Belgium, Romelu Lukaku joined Inter Milan from Manchester United on deadline day in the summer transfer window for the 2018-19 season. There were rumours of this deal throughout the entire summer transfer window and it was completed finally on the last day. Antonio Conte is now the new manager of Inter Milan. The new manager of the Blues targeted to bring in Romelu Lukaku in his squad desperately. Previously he also tried to bring in Lukaku in his side when he was manager of Chelsea. However, the deal did not finalize at that point in time. Romelu Lukaku agreed to join Manchester United and Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata in that summer transfer window.
However, at that time Romelu Lukaku was linked with Chelsea and Alvaro Morata was linked with Manchester United. If both of them would have joined their desired club, the future of these players would have been different. Romelu Lukaku was not very much successful for the Red Devils throughout the last three seasons. He was good in patches but could not deliver good performances consistently.
The first touch was always a problem for Romelu Lukaku throughout his career. The football pundits also did not like his lazy approach on the field. However, Romelu Lukaku provides a team with an edge over the other teams on two aspects. The physicality and ball holding power of Romelu make him more special than the others. The former centre forward from Manchester United would love to play in a counter attacking team like Inter Milan.
Post joining Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku confirmed that he came to Italy to win trophies. On the other hand, he also mentioned that Inter Milan were the team who wanted him badly in this summer transfer window. The approach of club management of the Serie A side attracted Romelu Lukaku to join the club.
On the other hand, Romelu Lukaku is also going to get the benefit of getting the support of his manager through out the course of the season. He is going to be the first choice centre forward for Inter Milan next season. According to the reports, the club management from Inter Milan had to pay transfer fees worth £80 million to bring Romelu Lukaku in their squad.
