David Luiz Makes This Huge Comment On This Arsenal Main-Man

Arsenal

It’s only been five months that former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta took over at Arsenal as the first team manager and as things stand, things are looking impressive at the Emirates. The Gunners were struggling at 14th position in the League table when Arteta took over from Unai Emery and there were many concerns over the decision of making the 38-year-old the Gunners boss. Arteta came back to Arsenal after serving two years as an assistant coach at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

Arteta helped City win back to back Premier League titles in the previous two seasons. At the current setup, Arteta is making an impression at the Emirates both on and off the pitch.

What David Luiz Said About Arteta?

New Gunners signing David Luiz expressed his admiration for his new boss. In April, he was quoted as saying how things are changing under the Spaniard.

Luiz: Arsenal 'going to do big things' under Arteta ...

“Mikel is doing amazing, I am enjoying being almost 33 years old and still learning and improving and to see how beautiful football is. Mikel, he brings a philosophy where everybody has to think for the best of the club and make the club shine again. Everybody, not just players, everyone has to breathe this oxygen. It does not matter where or when we lost it, we bring it back.”

Luiz has won much silverware in his illustrious career so far. The Brazilian has won four league titles in three countries. At Chelsea, he won the Premier League in 2017, Champions League in 2012, FA Cup twice in 2012 and 2018, and the Europa League twice in 2014 and 2019. After having played under so many good managers, Luiz says he is still learning and Mikel Arteta has many things to achieve.

“He knows football, he knows inside the pitch. He loves football, he loves to work, so this enthusiasm is contagious for everybody. What Mikel is trying to build is something big and I believe in his philosophy, I believe we can do something big this year and in the future, so I am really, really happy because we have our way to go. This way, is it going to be a hard way? Yes. Is it going to be difficult to achieve? Yes, but it is possible. Yes, it is possible.”

Luiz explains why Arteta's 'philosophy' has Arsenal 'happy' again ...

What The Arsenal Star Concluded By Saying?

“For me, Arteta is going to be one of the best coaches in the world. I have had the opportunity to have many coaches during my career. He is intelligent, he was a player, he is clever. I think he is going to be one of the best.” – Luiz told Sky Sports.

Arsenal is currently in ninth position in the Premier League table five points behind Manchester United who is on fifth. With nine games left, Gunners are pushing for qualification in the Champions League next season.

Finishing in the fifth would be enough this time as Manchester City is banned from Europe for the next two seasons. The Premier League might get resumed in the next month and the remaining games will be played behind the closed doors.
