Five Managers Who Can Possibly Do A Better Job Than Jose Mourinho At Manchester United

Jose Mourinho

2. Laurent Blanc :

No one will know United’s expectations better than a man who has finished his career, plying his trade at The Theatre of Dreams.

Laurent Blanc, the man who ushered Paris Saint-Germain to three Ligue 1 titles, two Coup-De-France’s, three Coup-De-la-Ligue’s and three Trophy des Champions, has a severe knack for silverware.

Post his departure, Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t been their usual selves and have fared in a mediocre way vis-à-vis to their glorious selves.

Blanc is still to take up a job post his stint with PSG and given his high stature for managing renowned teams and steering them out of their despair, United may ruminate about on-boarding him shortly.

3. Leonardo Jardim :

United’s foremost mantra at this point in time is to bring their attacking brand of football back. For the fans, that attacking style of play will automatically open the floodgates for the trophies.

Alongside that, United boasts of a very talented academy. Given Jardim’s predilection for nurturing youngsters, he will probably be a potential pick for the position of the gaffer, if Mou chooses to part ways with United.

Let us also not forget that Monaco racked up 95 points scoring a staggering number of 107 goals in their season of acing the Ligue 1.

These numbers speak for the word “attacking” in its truest sense.

4. Michael Carrick :

With very minimal coaching experience, it is too tough to tame a club called Manchester United. However, given the fact that one has been the vanguard of the same defence for 12 years and now he is the second man to Mourinho, he is probably the best replacement for the Portuguese.

Carrick is known for his avuncular attitude amongst the players. He likes to share out his players’ depressions and also helps them to cope with the situations.

Carrick also knew the hunger which the team possessed when he was at his playing prime. Given his good bond with the players, fans will not be surprised if he is chosen to replace Jose Mourinho.

5. The Titan :

I purposefully chose this name for the last man who was lurking in my mind. He probably had hung his boots long time back and will not even give a second thought about coming back, owing to his fragile health.

However, if all the candles go out and the hopes seem to dim beyond all recognition, there is only and only one man who can steady this United boat and hold on to this.

His introductory words to Michael Carrick were, “We’re used to winning at Manchester United, you know? The scrutiny is different from what you’re used to. Everyone looks at you differently when you’re at Manchester United. Everyone wants to beat you, everyone wants a piece of you, everyone wants to criticise you, everyone’s after you.”

Carrick retorted, “Similar to Chelsea?”

He replied with a hardened expression, “No, son, this is Manchester United, we’re different to the rest.”

I will still not introduce him with his name. You can keep on guessing. Another famous quote of his reverberates in the ears of almost all football zealots. The quote is, “ Football, bloody hell”!!!

You are close to getting him by the scruff of his name. I will add one final quote to the panoply.

This quote left Bayern Munich contorted in pain when they were bettered in the dying embers of the game. The quote goes like, “This is the European Cup final – some of you may never get here again – make sure when you come in at full-time that you have given your all and left nothing on the pitch”.

He is none other than our Messiah, Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson. If he comes as our preceptor again, the crowd will accept him with arms wide open.

I believe that the staggering numbers next to his name is already too sound of a testimony to his coaching abilities and his techniques are too sublime to be questioned.
