Liverpool fans have a rather unrealistic hope that their club can sign one of Barcelona’s highly rated players. The report coming in suggests that the Anfield faithful feel that the Merseyside outfit has a chance of signing France international Ousmane Dembele. The forward has fallen down the pecking order last term and the recent signing of his compatriot Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid has not helped his case either.

He has been trying to get regular game-time at the Nou Camp, but manager Ernesto Valverde has not been using him regularly. He has been in and out of the team, which has been frustrating for him as a player.

Though the team has been winning titles regularly and are the champions of Spain at present, the France World Cup winner wants more game-time. He is keen to make it to the first team, both at the club and the national level and wants to play more to prove that he is worth all the hype.

With that being said, his future at Barca now looks in doubts, though the club have stated that they will not be selling him. Griezmann will be demanding regular first team football himself, which means that Dembele has been pushed into a corner and may not start too many games once again, even if Malcom and Coutinho decide to leave the club.

That could be a huge factor which could decide the fate of the player. He would surely be interested in also joining the Reds, who were finally able to lift the Champions League title last term and will now be defending it. With Messi and co. not really looking a major threat in Europe and Dembele being started on the bench, a move away from Spain could be ideal for his future.

Whether he joins the club from England or looks for an alternate exit route, only time will confirm that. However, with his aspirations to play regular football, it will be rather tough for him to stay with Barca and keep waiting for his chances, as the seasons go by.

Already the Spanish giants have signed quite a few young talents in the recent transfer windows and if more players continue to keep coming in, things will not get any easier for the 22 year old attacker. Due to this, he will want to take a stand about hi future now and hopefully he moves away on loan at least.

Another key factor is the point whether Klopp actually needs him or not and can offer him regular game-time himself. Liverpool have quite a packed squad at present and with the likes of Keita and Shaqiri on the bench as well, they are having a formidable squad as well.

Only if a few more players leave and Milner retires, will there be more space created in the midfield. Though that is a potential case, the former England international is going really strong at present and there is no chance of him hanging up his boots at present.
