The Bangladesh national team’s wicket-keeper plays for the team Beximco Dhaka in the BPL. During today’s match of Dhaka vs Barishal Fortuners, Mushfiqur was seen abusing and shouting at a fielder of his own team. A clip of the same incident got viral on Twitter in no time.

Twitteratti has been trolling BPL 2020 since then. A certain portion of the fans has criticized Mushfiqur Rahim for his behaviour though. Some even think that it was the wicket keeper’s mistake and that he should apologise.
In the match between Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal, the team from Barishal won the toss and elected to bowl first. Coming on to bat first, Dhaka were off to a horrible start. Opener Mohammad Naim scored just five off 11 balls. His partner Sabbir Rahman scored eight off 14. Al-Amin who replaced Naim faired even worse. He was dismissed for a duck by Barishal’s Taskin Ahmed.

Mushfiqur Rahman Took Charge And Twitteratti Went Berserk
Dhaka’s wicketkeeper-captain Mushfiqur Rahim then came in and took charge of the innings. He was supported by batsman Yasir Ali. Both the excellent batsmen took the team to a respectable position. Mushfiqur Rahim scored a responsible innings of 43 off 30 balls while Yasir Ali became the highest scorer of the day for Dhaka. He scored 54 off 43 balls. Akbar Ali’s cameo of 21(9) is also worth mentioning. Beximco Dhaka thus managed to score 150/8 in their 20 overs.
Among the bowlers of Fortune Barishal, Sumon Khan gave an amazing performance. He took three wickets at an expense of 33 runs. Kamrul Islam took the two most important wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali.
Coming on to chase, Fortune Barishal got a decent start from their openers but a quick succession of wickets disturbed their momentum. Openers Tamim Iqbal and Said Hassan scored 22 and 12 runs respectively. Parvez Hassan Emon scored two off eleven.
What Happened In The Game Eventually?
Then came in Atif Hassan who proved to threaten the bowlers of Dhaka. He went on to play an explosive inning of 55 (35) that gave Barishal some hope. It was regarding his knock that the controversial incident of Mushfiqur Rahim occurred. Atif Hassan was batting on 55 at that time. Mushfiqur sent Shafiqul to bowl the 16th over.
On the last bowl, Atif nicked the bowl high up towards a fielder of the fly slip. Mushfiqur ran towards him and called for the ball. There was a slight miscommunication between the keeper and the fielder. Though Mushfiqur was successful in taking the catch, he was furious at the fielder. It seemed as though he would have hit the youngster, had the teammates not separated the two on time.
The keeper was spotted abusing and shouting at the fielder on camera. Cricket fans have mixed opinions on this. Some said that the catch was actually for the fielder. Mushfiqur shouldn’t have called for it and thus it is his mistake. Others are just having some fun trolling the Bangladeshi cricketers.
