Watch: Yasir Shah And Henry Nicholls’ Conversation Gone Viral

Jimmy Neesham

New Zealand hosted visitors Pakistan for the first match of the test series on Boxing Day. The visitors faired pretty well on the first day of the match. At stumps, the Kiwis have scored 222/3. During the match, a funny incident occurred starring Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah. Not being able to dismiss Kiwi’s batsman Henry Nicholls, a frustrated Yasin Shah yelled something which got recorded in the stumps mic. A video clip of the same has been posted on Twitter by some cricket fans. The video thus became viral in no time.

The Video Clip That Went Viral From The Pakistan Versus New Zealand Game

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Coming on to bat, the two Toms of New Zealand, Tom Latham and Tom Blundell, didn’t give their side an ideal start. Latham scored four off three while Blundell scored five off 29. Both of the openers were dismissed by the young Pakistani pacer, Shaheen Afridi.

Then, the big guns of New Zealand, namely captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor came in to take control of the innings and they did that so well. After playing a 100+ partnership, the same Shaheen Afridi came to Pakistan’s rescue by sending off in-form batsman Ross Taylor. Taylor player an amazing knock of 70 (151).

That was the last wicket that Pakistan got on the first day. As it now stands, Kane Williamson is unbeaten on 94* (243) and is just six runs away from yet another century. He is being supported by Henry Nicholls who has also played a great knock of 42*(100). It was Nicholls who frustrated Yasir Shah.

What Yasir Shah Said That Has Caught The Attention Of Fans On Social Media?

Playing against the Pakistani spinner in the 77th over, Nicholls totally misjudged a cut shot which was collected safely behind by the Wicket-keeper. Fortunately for the batsman, there was no edge. By that time, Pakistan had already dropped catches of both Williamson and Nicholls. Both the players looked undisputable. Therefore, Yasir Shah got very frustrated as there was no edge. Out of frustration, he yelled “ Out ho jaa bhutnike..” (translation:- Pls get out damn it). His words got recorded in the stump mic and the fans can’t stop laughing. Several memes regarding this incident have started being circulated all over Social Media.

Pakistan's Yasir Shah breaks a 82-year-old Test record, becomes fastest ever to take 200 wickets

Having lost the T20 series 2-1, Pakistan will definitely be looking forward to making a good comeback in the Test series. However, Kiwis’ captain Kane Williamson is their biggest hurdle. New Zealand recently devastated the West Indies in the test series. In that series, Kane Williamson also scored a double century. The skipper is in a deadly form currently. Pakistan will hope to take his wicket early on in day 2.

As of now, situations do not seem to be in Pakistan’s favour. Their star player Babar Azam who has been in a terrific form this year is out injured. Playing against a team like New Zealand needs great depth and strength in the batting line-up. The Paks will thus not only have to break the Williamson-Nicholls partnership quickly, but they would also have to hope that their Batsmen play well.
