Following his surprise move from Real Madrid to Arsenal in 2013, everyone believed the German wouldn’t be up for the toughness of the league, but he proved his doubters wrong, integrating well into Arsene Wenger’s side. Özil is a constant threat, plying his moves from the central midfield area, consistently providing his teammates with assists, ending last season as the top assist provider in the League. The German is an integrals part of both club and country, often lauded for his vision and his creative prowess which enable him to create space and goal scoring opportunities for fellow teammates.
1. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City FC)
Discarded my Jose Mourinho during his second stint at Chelsea, Kevin De Bruyne returned to haunt his ex-manager, scoring and assisting a goal in the Manchester Derby this season at Old Trafford, De Bruyne has consistently performed and has proven why Manchester City broke the bank to get him back to England. An amazingly talented midfielder, his scintillating runs and clinical passing match exactly with Pep Guardiola’s philosophy, De Bruyne is currently the best midfielder in the Premier League, and may prove to be the corner stone on which Manchester City’s title run may be built and depend upon.
