Ryan Stevenson was the best bowler of Hampshire in the first innings as he took 4 wickets of Middlesex with conceding 70 runs. On the other hand, Liam Dawson was another pick of the bowler for Hampshire as he grabbed 2 wickets in the first innings with conceding only 39 runs. Hampshire needed to 158 runs to win the match. They already scored 60 runs with losing only two wickets in the second innings. Felix Organ and Alsop already went back to the pavilion. J. Harris took the wicket of Felix Organ and Thilan Walallawaita dismissed Alsop in the fourth innings.
Hampshire now only need to score 98 runs on the fourth day of the match to seal the victory. So, after the end of the third day, Hampshire are in an advantageous position to win this encounter.
