What Happened In The IPL 2020 Tournament?
Mumbai Indians have won the title this season with utter dominance. They have outclassed every opponent in this season with ease. The team has been brilliant throughout the whole season. Krunal Pandya has been a key member of the setup of Mumbai Indians in last few seasons. In this season also, he has played an important role for his side. The cricketer has also been a part of Indian Cricket Team at one point of time.
However, he has not been able to keep his position in the team for a long time. He has been given several opportunities to prove his worth. The elder brother of Hardik Pandya has not been able to solidify his place in the squad.
Krunal Pandya Didn’t Have The Best Season Though
Krunal Pandya’s bowling has not been at his best in the later stage of this season’s IPL. He has tried many things throughout the whole season. Even, he has bowled two bouncers in this tournament. It is quite odd for a left-arm spinner to bowl at that length. Krunal Pandya’s batting position has also not been fixed in this tournament by the management. He has been sent ahead of Hardik Pandya quite a few times in the tournament. His contribution with the bat has also not been significant in the tournament except one or two quickfire knocks.
Krunal Pandya has always been considered as one of the most important members of the franchise because of his all-round ability. According to the sources, there might be a mega auction ahead of the new season of IPL. A new team can be included in the next season. In the mega auction, two foreigners can be retained along with three Indian players. It will be interesting to see if the franchise retains Krunal Pandya after the mega auction. However, it is quite certain that they will go for this player in the auction.
What Next For The Mumbai Indians?
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are two real heroes of the campaign for Mumbai Indians. Two uncapped Indian players have performed consistently for the side in this tournament. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult have finished at second and third position respectively in the purple cap holder list. Suryakumar Yadav has not got the opportunity in the Indian National Team after his consistent performance in the domestic circuit.
So, the former players are not happy with the selection process. Hardik Pandya is the only Indian player from Mumbai Indians who have gone to Australia. Rohit Sharma will go later along with Ishant Sharma ahead of the test series.
