The Virat Kohli Catch- The Indian cricket team is just owning the second day of the first test match between India and Australia. After a decent batting performance on day one, the Indian bowlers are giving the Australian batsmen a taste of their own medicine in their home ground. The same pace of wicket that the Australian bowlers used against the Indians on day one are now being bettered by Bumrah, Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The Brilliant Virat Kohli Catch Followed By A Classy Celebration
Despite an excellent bowling performance, the Indian fielders have seemed to be a bit lethargic right from the beginning of the day. The men in blue have dropped two easy catches of Marnus Labuschagne alone, once by Jaspreet Bumrah and once by Prithvi Shaw.
However, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is not in that list of ‘poor-fielding performances’. He proved that courtesy of a superb flying catch that he took to dismiss Australia batsman Cameron Green.

Marnus Labuschagne was the only trustable batsmen Australian batsman who can trouble the Indian bowlers in this innings. An Australian cricket fan Tweeted, “Reckon this is Tim Paine’s most important test innings. Has to stay with Labuschagne. If Australia is to be any hope, India can’t be batting tonight.”
The Australian got two lifelines today in the form of dropped catches. Till now, he has made them count. He was batting on 47 off 119 when he was dismissed by Umesh Yadav.
A Good Comeback In The Game From Team India
When a wicket seeking captain Kohli sent Ravi Ashwin to take Labuschagne’s wicket, he dismissed Cameron Green instead. Virat Kohli however, had a big role to play in that. A loosely played shot by Cameron Green was caught by Kohli mid-air as he jumped towards his right towards the ball. Having successfully landed with the ball in hand, the Indian captain showed his aggression through his celebration, punching the air in joy. That was Ashwin’s third wicket
Such a brilliant catch will obviously add to Virat Kohli’s confidence. After being dismissed due to a silly run out in the middle of a great innings, Kohli was extremely upset. However, his team has performed well on the second day. They have been the better team so far in this match. Five quick wickets have unnerved the Australian batting lineup.
What Next For Team India In The Match?
Jaspreet Bumrah is back in his old form. The unorthodox pacer took the wickets of both the Australian openers (leg-before-wicket in both cases) and gave India a great start. In the middle overs, Ravichandran Ashwin showed his magic. He took 3 big wickets, namely Steve Smith, Travis Head and Cameron Green.
On the other hand, Umesh Yadav, who had been brilliant in the practice matches against Australia A, lived up to the fans’ expectations. He dismissed the only remaining threat for India, Marnus Labuschagne. He also took another wicket – of Patt Cummins. That too in quick succession.
As of now, Australia has made 119/5 in 55 overs. Tim Paine, who is the last hope of the Aussies has so far made 30 off 44. However, there is no responsible batsman left to support the innings of Paine. The Australian tailenders are already in, just the 50th over of their innings. It would be hard for Australia to take a lead now.
