The Virat Kohli Story- It seems like today was Virat Kohli’s day after all. Apart from that funny catch miss, everything pretty much went in the Indian skipper’s favour today. Kohli played a decent knock of 40 (22), his team won the match and the series, and moreover, he played a shot to remember for a lifetime.
During India’s run chase, Virat Kohli played an amazing flick shot. Playing against Andrew Tye, he flicked the ball over the fine leg, in a way which pretty much resembled his RCB teammate AB de Villiers. After winning the match, the Indian skipper was in a mood. Maybe that’s why he called out his friend AB de Villiers in the post-match presentation when he was asked about that shot.
The Comment By Virat Kohli That Went Viral
The skipper said jokingly, “ That scoop over fine leg was a bit of a funny moment, I will send ABD a text tonight and see what he thinks of it”. We all know about Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers strong bond of friendship from the beginning of the RCB days. Both the players spare no chance to taunt each other, and in this case, Kohli was doing just that. Whether the Indian skipper played the shot willingly or not, will, unfortunately, remain unknown though.
Earlier tonight, Virat Kohli made the headlines when he dropped an easy catch that was given away by Mathew Wade. That ultimately led to a runout though but it was a pretty funny incident for both the fans and the players. Washington Sundar and Virat Kohli couldn’t stop laughing over it. However, Kohli will probably forget that blooper after the performance that he gave.
India did win the match in the end and thus, they have sealed the T20 series with 2 wins in a row. They would now be looking forward to a win in the third and final T20 match to whitewash Australia completely in the T20 series.

Coming on to bat first, Australia scored 194/5 in 20 overs. Thangarasu Natarajan once again proved his worth by taking a couple of wickets at an economy of just five. Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each.
India’s openers gave them just the start they needed to chase the huge target. KL Rahul scored a decent 30(22), and Shikhar Dhawan scored a brilliant knock of 52(36). Apart from them, Indian skipper Virat Kohli also played an innings building knock of 40(24).

After Kohli’s departure, the required run rate started increasing. That’s when Hardik Pandya came in and turned the game around. Hardik played a thunderous cameo of 42(22) and finished off the game in style with two sixes in the last over. Hardik Pandya has been in a tremendous form in Australia. In today’s match, he proved himself to be a worthy replacement of MS Dhoni as India’s next-gen finisher.
Having won the T20 series, India will now be looking forward to showing a similar performance in the Test series. Netizens think that the Test series against Australia will be the toughest challenge for India in this tour. Whether Rohit Sharma will be present for the Test series is still under speculation. It is now to see, whether captain Kohli can lead Team India to victory in the Test series as well.
