Indian Legends To Play The Opening Match? The World Safety Series is back this time and hopefully, the pandemic can’t get the better of it. The tournament will start this year on the 5th of March. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic last year. However, the 2021 edition is expected to go on irrespective of the growing numbers.
The Unacademy Road Safety World Series 2021 is back. This time even bigger and better. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Jonty Rhodes, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag are some of the big names to feature this year. The expectations from this tournament are really high, as the players look to raise some funds for charity.
The Update On The Start Of The Road Safety World Series 2021; As The Indian Legends Take On The Bangladesh Legends
There will be six teams in the tournament this time around. The teams will be Indian Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, West Indies Legends, Bangladesh Legends and England Legends.
One team that was present in the inaugural edition (Australian Legends), will not be present this year. A couple of new teams have been added instead. The England Legends and Bangladesh Legends were not present in last year’s competition. They will be joining in on the fun now.
The inaugural edition was called off due to the threat of Covid-19. The tournament will now resume this year. It will be the Indian Legends playing the first game versus the Bangladesh Legends. The match will be played on the 5th of March at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. It will be played in Raipur.

What Next For Indian Cricket And IPL 2021 Post This Tournament?
This tournament will be played along with the PSL and the India-England Test series. Post that, there will be the ODI and T20 series between the two teams to follow. With that being said, all eyes will be on the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. IPL 2021 will be followed in a few months by the T20 World Cup.
The tournament will be held in India itself. Due to that, the importance level of this tournament will this year be at an all-time high. With that being said, the players will be focused on performing really well this time around. They will be looking to perform their very best under pressure and carry that form into the upcoming international tournament.
The T20 World Cup last year was also cancelled due to the pandemic. However, the fans will be hoping that things are rather different this time around. They will be eager for a big tournament to happen for cricket, apart from the domestic leagues. Even the ICC will be focused on making things happen.
