RCB’s state in IPL 2021
Coming to RCB, Virat Kohli’s team returned to winning ways with a win against Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Rishabh Pant won the toss and put RCB to bat first, keeping the dew in mind. RCB started with a bang, as Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal hit five boundaries in the first three overs. Then, pace duo of Avesh Khan and Ishant Sharma picked up both these batsmen.
Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar resurrected the RCB innings with a vital 30 runs partnership. Maxwell hit two sixes off the two spinners, Axar Patel and Amit Mishra.
RCB then suffered a jolt as Amit Mishra sent back Glenn Maxwell for a 20 ball 25. from then onwards, AB de Villiers happened. He played a blinder and scored 75 runs off 42 balls. He hit five sixes and three fours during the course of his innings. RCB posted a score of 171 runs on the board.
In reply, Delhi Capitals could manage to score 170 runs, falling short of the RCB score by 1 run. Rishabh Pant scored 58 runs off 48 balls, while Simron Hetmeyer played a blinder scoring 53 runs off 25 balls. RCB climbed up to the top in the points table courtesy of this win.
