Australia’s Premier fast bowler Pat Cummins turned 28 on May 8, 2021. He is currently in the Maldives with all the other Australian players who were part of IPL 2021. He is waiting for the Australian Government to give all the Aussie players permission to return to Australia after participating in the IPL in India. The fast bowlers featured in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the meantime, his franchise KKR gave him an amazing surprise on his birthday. KKR uploaded a video on their official Twitter account where all his teammates with the likes of Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Shubman Gill, Prasidh Krishna, and many others wishing him on his 28th birthday.
At the start of the video the Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russel uniquely wished Pat Cummins. “What is popping bro? You know it is a special day. Just want to wish you a happy, happy birthday. No 1 Test bowler in the World for a reason.”
Dinesh Karthik’s Wish Caught Everyone’s Attention
However, the best of the lot was the former KKR captain and the current wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik’s wished. Karthik wished him that the Australian team appoints Cummins as the captain of the side very soon. Pat Cummins has all the capabilities and attributes to become the leader of the side. He also said that they are very lucky to have Pat Cummins in the team and termed him as one of the best in the world.
“I think in KKR, we are very lucky to have a player like you. One of the best going around the world. Wish you a very very happy birthday. I genuinely wish you soon become an Australian captain. I think you have all the skill sets to do it. Wish you all the very best.”

For quite some time now, there have been ongoing talks about appointing Pat Cummins as the captain of the Australian Test team. Australia’s current Test captain, Tim Paine has not had good results as the captain of the Test team. Recently, under his captainship, Australia lost the home Tests series against an Indian team that did not have the big names in their ranks. Paine faced a lot of criticism due to this. Now, reports have arisen that if Australia fails to win the upcoming Ashes, then Pat Cummins will replace Tim Paine as the captain of the team.
