Harsha Bhogle has complimented England’s most experienced pacer, Jimmy Anderson, on Twitter after a class showing against India in the first innings of the third Test. India is on the back-foot in the game against England in Headingley. After getting all out for just 78 in the first innings after choosing to bat first, Virat Kohli’s men were terrible with the bat against a class bowling attack of England in English conditions.
The Tweet That Was Sent Out By Harsha Bhogle About The Veteran English Pacer That Got A Lot Of Attention
It is a rare case these days to see Virat winning a toss but this time he did it but arguably took the wrong decision. Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer who scored 19 after surviving over 100 balls. It was a Jimmy Anderson masterclass on his opening spell as Indian top order could not stand in front of his firey spell in the opening session. The India captain Virat Kohli is not having his best series with the bat either. He has managed to score only 69 runs from five innings so far in this series. One particular reason is obviously the England cricket team’s greatest no. 9 i.e. James Anderson.
England must dread life after Anderson. At a different level.

The 39-year-old veteran has troubled many great Indian batsmen in the past including the master blaster. Sachin Tendulkar got dismissed most times by him, the same statistics with the current Indian captain. Fine as old wine as many say, Anderson has got better year after year, especially in his 30’s. On Wednesday at Headingley Anderson dismissed Kohli for the seventh time, the most number of times any bowler has got the better of him in Test cricket.
Those seven dismissals have come across 23 Tests, with six at home and one in England. Five of the seven have come with Kohli yet to reach double figures. Anderson has bowled a total of 330 maiden overs against India, the most by any bowler against them in tests. This is the longevity of him which has kept him one of the key bowlers of England even at the age of 39.
What Jimmy Anderson Said After Getting Virat Kohli Out In The Match?
He had earlier removed both KL Rahul (0) and Cheteshwar Pujara (1) via edges to the keeper before getting Kohli out on seven. It has been a great series so far for Jimmy Anderson and he has been the pick of the bowlers.
His comments after picking up Virat Kohli’s comments were-
“We have had some great battles over the years. He is a fantastic player and someone you want to keep quiet as a team, especially in a five-match series.”
“We have just got to try to keep doing that, try and keep him quiet as often as we can because we know that if he gets going it could be a long series for us.”
Well, England is on the verge of making it 1-1 in the game at Headingley. That would give them some confidence to win this series now. Let’s wait and watch!!
