T20 World Cup 2022: BCCI Twitter Handle Likes Pakistani Journalist’s ‘Cowards Don’t Run Away’ Tweet Post Jay Shah’s Comments

T20 World Cup 2022

T20 World Cup 2022 update: The last few days have seen the tensions that have been slowly simmering between India and Pakistan ahead of the Titanic clash between the two sides has now reached a massive tipping point. With the upcoming Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan next year, it was initially reported that the BCCI was in favour of traveling to Pakistan and participating in  the tournament, inspite of the political tensions between the two countries.

T20 World Cup 2022: What Was The Initial Statement From BCCI Secretary And ACC President Jay Shah?

But in a rather unsurprising U-turn, BCCI secretary and ACC president Jay Shah has openly declared that India will not be traveling to Pakistan, and to further add fuel to the fire, he also mentioned that the Asia Cup will not be held at Pakistan, and will instead be shifted to a neutral venue.

This declaration has not only caught the PCB by surprise and shock. But has also prompted a urgent statement on part of the PCB. They have issued a release saying that nothing of the sort has been conveyed to them in the recently concluded ACC meeting.
And that there would be serious ramifications if the tournament is moved from Pakistan. This may also include Pakistan withdrawing from the ICC World Cup in India next year. The news has definitely not gone down well in Pakistan.
A host of former players and media are slamming BCCI as well as Jay Shah. That is for making the cardinal mistake of mixing politics with sport. Such has been the outrage that former players like Kamran Akmal. They have gone on record saying that Pakistan should go on and boycott the upcoming game in the T20 World Cup as well.

What Did The Pakistani Journalist Further Say That Added To The Initial Controversy?

In the midst of all this harakiri, one Pakistan journalist by the name of Syed Sameer crossed all lines and went on a spree of slandering the BCCI for its decision. In one of the tweets that he posted, the journalist wrote, “Cowards do not run away. Keep sports away from politics”.
This was just one in a series of Tweets which were downright distasteful in nature. And something not putting a journalist in good light. However, the thing that makes this situation even intriguing is that BCCI’s official Twitter handle has gone ahead and liked that Tweet. And this has not gone down well with a lot of people.
Looks like the admins job is in trouble after this.

T20 World Cup 2022: India Set To Face Off Against Pakistan

With the two teams set to face off against each other, things are really getting intense. Not just the fans, anyone involved with either side is losing it. Social Media will surely be full of such comments. These two Titans attract a lot of attention from everyone who watches the game.

With that being said, there will be a lot more pressure on Team India, rather than Pakistan. The hosts of the upcoming 50-over World Cup will want to win this match. That is to re-cement their place as favourites in this contest. Let’s wait and watch!!
