Taniya Bhatia is in trouble!! While it was a very happy ending for the Indian women’s team on the pitch, comprehensively beating England 3-0 in the ODI series, winning a series on English soil for the first time since 1999, and giving the perfect farewell for veteran stalwart Jhulan Goswami.
However, it was not exactly a happy ending outside the field for Taniya Bhatia. Almost immediately after the win, she tweeted that she was robbed of her essentials as well as her valuables…. From her hotel room.
The incident off the pitch involving Taniya Bhatia that shocked the whole world!!
What were the top comments coming out of Twitter post the details of the incident that Taniya Bhatia suffered were broken out??
Twitter reacted to the incident in the most sarcastic way possible and tried to console the Indian woman cricketer:
Never expected @englandcricket will come with this kind of trick.

Dear English people,
I know that you are going through recession and high inflation, but I never thought you'd stoop so low to fall into your own guest's room to steal their bags and money.
SHAME.

Eventually no further updates were given out and it was just left it at that!!
Not a safe country for anyone to be, if incidents like these impact the mental peace of the cricketers (not just them, common people too). With that being said, hopefully the much needed-action was taken by the ECB and other governing bodies.
The women’s cricket team for India has made us proud on multiple occasions. It is time to keep supporting them, even when the play is not the best.
