A cricket game between India and the Netherlands wouldn’t be considered a “blockbuster”. But Virat Kohli has made sure that everyone in the cricket world will be watching the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.
After his incredible innings against Pakistan that won the game, the charismatic master batsman will have a lot of fans, not just from India. Aussies are also interested in the former captain of India because he plays the game in a way that is usually associated with winning teams and players from Australia.
A group of Australians were among the many Pakistan and India fans who were chanting Kohli’s name the other day. This was when he was in the field before he hit his two most famous sixes.
Virat Kohli put on a show at the Sydney Cricket Ground against Netherlands
Even the best players sometimes make shots that are so good that even they can’t believe it. Virat Kohli turned inside out and hit a six over extra cover on Thursday. He looked at his batting partner with wide eyes and said he never thought he could do something so amazing.
Virat Kohli kept his good form going against the Netherlands on Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Against Pakistan, he scored an amazing 82 not out in 53 balls. The star Indian batter got 50 runs off of 37 balls with the help of three fours and one six. This was on a day when neither of the openers was as aggressive as they must have wanted to be against the weaker team.
King delivers yet another knock
In the 17th over of India’s innings at the current T20 World Cup match, just one ball before Kohli reached his second consecutive fifty, he played an amazing shot against Fred Klaassen. Klassen bowled a fullish ball outside the off stump while going around the wicket.
Kohli bent his back leg and used the angle perfectly to hit the ball over deep extra cover for a six. Even though he hit two great sixes against Haris Rauf in the last game, Kohli couldn’t believe what he just did against Klaassen. His face on the replays said it all.

With the way that things are at present, it seems that the Indian side should go through to the semis. However, the main focus will now be the game against South Africa. If the former champs do win that match against the Proteas, they will ensure their qualification into the final 4.
If for some reason, Team India loses the game, things could get quite interesting in group 2. Let’s wait and watch to see what happens next, as Rohit Sharma and co. will want to secure qualification as soon as possible!!
