With India facing New Zealand at the Wankhede, the stakes are high for the Indian team who are gunning to end a trophy drought that stretches way back to 2013. They have come close multiple times but have not been able to get past the hump in all of them. This World Cup, they have been the best side on show throughout the league stage of the tournament. That is, with the Men in Blue playing some sparkling cricket while swatting aside everyone in their path.

But facing them are their bogey team in knockouts of ICC events in the form of New Zealand. The Kiwis have had the number of India multiple times, with India never having defeated them in a knockout game. And with a view to change this outcome tonight, a group of fans have resorted to divine intervention so that this unwanted streak ends tonight.

A group of Indian fans from Tamil Nadu have been offering prayers to ensure that it is India is victorious tonight. They are also part of the Madurai Jallikatu Rotary Club. While they are certainly not the only ones praying for the success of the Men in blue, these guys have captured the attention of the media for their fervent devotion to the cause.

This chain of prayers was started by a man named Ballu. He is an ardent fan of the Indian team. Also, he happens to be the President of the Madurai Jallikatu Rotary Club. When asked why and how he came up with the idea of this divine intervention, his response was pretty simple but a very hard-hitting one.

He said, “We believe that prayers have the power to influence the outcome of the game. And bring luck to the players. Our prayers are filled with hope and optimism. And a deep sense of patriotism. We wish for the Indian team to emerge victorious and make the nation proud.”

We all hope that their prayers, as well as our prayers are a success tonight. And that the Indian team emerges victorious!! So that, it continues its march to the finals of the CWC 2023. And win us that elusive World Cup that we as fans have been craving for so long.
