Arsenal Are Ready To Loan Out Their 25 Year Old Player

Arsenal is willing to let Eddie Nketiah go, but only if Marseille agrees to purchase him straight after a loan. In North London, the 25-year-old striker has had trouble establishing himself. Though he has over 150 appearances and 38 goals with the Gunners, he has not established himself as a first-choice attacker under Mikel Arteta.

Marseille has shown interest in bringing Nketiah to Ligue 1. Particularly with Aubameyang’s departure for Saudi Arabia, the club needs yet another striker. Although Mason Greenwood has already signed, the want for more firepower never goes away. Nketiah would be suitable, but Arsenal wants to guarantee the transaction is permanent by including a €30 million required buy clause.

Nketiah’s irritation with Arsenal has been mounting. He wants a new start after spending much of last season on the margins. Moving to Marseille would allow him to establish his value and get regular playing chances. Given the athlete looks open to make the transfer, personal terms apparently won’t be an issue.

Arsenal’s readiness to approve a loan agreement shows they are ready to move on from Nketiah. The forced purchase provision complicates matters, however. Marseille has to choose if they are ready to commit to such a large sum for a player who has not yet regularly shown himself at the top level.

Ultimately, Marseille’s willingness to take a measured risk determines this agreement. Although Nketiah might flourish in a new surroundings, the financial investment needed could cause the Ligue 1 team to reconsider. From Arsenal’s vantage point, allowing Nketiah to depart makes sense if they can get a reasonable price. If Marseille rejects the fee, Nketiah may stay in a state of uncertainty between a team he no longer fits and one apprehensive of bringing him on.

As Edu and Mikel Arteta try to strengthen the team before the window closes, Arsenal’s transfer activity is ready to become more intense. The Gunners have only added one senior so far: Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. Three weeks left in the transfer period means the team is probably going to seek further reinforcements.

Particularly considering the challenges of last season in the No. 9 post, a new striker seems to be highly on the agenda. Arsenal needed a real center-forward in their assault, hence they may have lost important points. Names like Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres have come up as possible targets, but now another choice has risen.

One of the league’s top offensive players, Brentford’s Ivan Toney, may be for sale at a discounted rate. Toney has long been associated with Arsenal, but latest news indicates Brentford could cut his asking price drastically. Originally valued at more than £80 million, the Bees may potentially split ways with Toney for as low as £30 million given his contract position.

With just one year remaining, Toney’s contract with Brentford is nearing end, therefore the club runs the danger of losing him for free next summer. This situation has apparently made Brentford reevaluate their position, which makes Toney a maybe reasonably priced alternative for Arsenal. But his future is unknown as the anticipated bidding war for his talents has not developed.
