A hilarious incident that happened on the field during the second T20 match between India and Australia got crazily viral on social media. Virat Kohli dropped a sitter but that eventually led to a run-out. Twitterati can’t stop laughing over the video. Here’s what happened. India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Youngster T. Natarajan got a quick wicket in the form of opener D’Arcy Short but the partnership between Matthew Wade and Steve Smith was causing a lot of trouble.
The Video Of Virat Kohli That Went Viral On Twitter
Mathew Wade had already scored an incredible knock of 58(32) when the incident happened. Washington Sundar came on to bowl in the 7th over. In the fifth ball of the over, batsman Mathew Wade gave away an easy catch to Indian skipper Virat Kohli who was standing at midwicket.
Surprisingly, Kohli dropped the catch! Matthew Wade was probably certain that the catch would be taken. So he didn’t budge to move back to crease having crossed half the pitch. To his surprise, Virat Kohli dropped it and he quickly threw the ball towards wicketkeeper KL Rahul and it was an easy runout. The “comedy of errors” is what makes the incident so funny. Even Washington Sundar and Kohli himself couldn’t stop laughing.

Australian wicketkeeper Mathew Wade got a promotion in the batting line-up for today’s match and he didn’t let his captain down. He set the momentum of Australia’s batting lineup with his half-century. Australia made some big changes in their squad ahead of the second T20I. Aaron Finch, who had been phenomenal in the ODI series, has been dropped from the lineup. Allrounder Marcus Stoinis replaced him.
There are no changes in India’s squad though. Yuzvendra Chahal who came in as a substitute in the last match has found a spot in the starting 11, thanks to his amazing spell of 4-0-25-3 in the last match.
What Next For Team India; Can They Win The Series Today!?
As it now stands, Australia has scored 194/5 in 20 overs. T. Natarajan again bowled an excellent spell today. The youngster took two big wickets of D’Arcy Short and Moises Henriques and gave just 20 runs in his four overs. Natarajan has now taken four wickets in two T20Is. He is proving to be a pretty economical bowler as well. Praises have started to come from all corners of the nation for the 29-year-old Tamil Nadu lad. His “toe-braking” yorkers have acquired praises from legendary cricketers as well.
Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. Had it not been for the funny incident regarding Mathew Wade’s wicket, Washington Sundar would also have got a wicket though. It is now a test of India’s batting line-up.
In the recent past, India has not been as efficient in run chases as it used to be. Captain Virat Kohli, who is a specialist in run chases, is also not in his best form. Moreover, the absence of Rohit Sharma has taken a toll on the batting lineup. The likes of Kl Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan would have to take that extra responsibility if India wants to win this match. India’s batting line-up has a great depth. But chasing 194 runs isn’t an easy task.
