Former Delhi opener Virender Sehwag gave high praise to the 21-year-old saying Shaw played an incredible inning and even Sehwag could not manage to hit six fours in an over in his entire career. Which shows that the batsman was perfect in his timing and also placement.
“Smashing six boundaries off all the six balls means playing. He played every ball through the perfect gap, which is not easy. I have opened in my career and had thought of smashing all the six balls so many times. Despite that, I got a maximum of 18 or 20 odd runs. I could not always hit six boundaries or six sixes. “He is a talented player and we all know that for a fact. If you give him the confidence to back himself, he can do wonders. Was only telling him to play the normal game. In this kind of match, we can relax a bit and can afford to think of a run rate.”
Shaw is now in the third position in the Orange cap race behind Shikhar Dhawan and Faf Du Plessis. All he needs to do is now be consistent till the end of the season.
