By now everyone knows that up until the World Cup started, Harry Maguire was England’s public enemy Number 1. He was slow, ponderous, and error-prone. His club form was so woeful that it was slowly creeping into his international game as well, a place where he is more often than not at home and where he performs at his best.

In the video, a member of parliament began speaking about how Maguire was a great player who was able to stop any attackers move in a trice.
And which is why Manchester United went on to secure his services for a record price on a defender. But ever since, Maguire has been an absolute liability for the United side, constantly tackling his own defenders and assisting opponents to score goals against his team.
Comparing the Maguire from football, he called one of the ministers the “Economic Maguire” of Ghana. He further said that this minister was bought in to strengthen the backbone of the country, but now he has turned out to be one of the biggest risks in the backline of the country, and that if he isn’t removed/ taken off, the country will be in danger of scoring “Economic own goals”.
The Trends On Social Media Just Keep On Giving
While comparing players to things which are common is not out of place, but comparing a player to an economic situation of a nation by pin pointing a certain minister is something new. And something that we genuinely did not fancy seeing. But here we are, and we shouldn’t really be surprised.
As far as the football Maguire is concerned, he is now regaining lost pride. This is by putting in commendable performances for England at the heart of their backline. And as far as the economic Maguire of Ghana is concerned, we can only hope that he finds form like the football Maguire. And does something to improve the situation before he is ‘dropped’.
Well, weird things happen in and around the game of football. So, it will be really interesting to see how things develop in this case. So far, it doesn’t look good for Maguire with regards to the respect he deserves. However, a top professional should try and ignore such trolls.
