Chelsea’s pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka will have competition from Manchester United and Liverpool
According to Ben Jacobs of The Football Terace, Chelsea will face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United for the services of Evan Ndicka. The French defender’s current deal expires this summer. Thus making him available to negotiate a new one this month.
Talks over a contract have been less than fruitful. So the young player will be eager to make his mark once summer comes. Benoit Badiashile, formerly of AS Monaco, was been signed by Chelsea. More changes are coming this summer.
Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has already funded two huge defensive additions this summer. However, the Blues’ poor play has prompted them to reevaluate their transfer tactics. Ndicka, who will be available shortly, has so come under their scrutiny.
Liverpool has had a rough 2022–23 season under Jurgen Klopp. His squad has failed to establish a consistent presence on the pitch. Virgil van Dijk has made a lot of mistakes, and even players like Ibrahima Konate haven’t stood out.
Who will get Evan Ndicka?
Recruiting a new midfielder is a top priority. Both Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are well into their 30s, so a defensive overhaul is also necessary. Even Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, knows his team needs new faces.

There will be enough money, and because Ndicka won’t cost anything to move, he could be a better option than someone who does. If Liverpool offers the player a lucrative deal and a sizable signing bonus, he should be enticed to join the club. The transfer fight between Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United has been predicted by Ben Jacobs.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool- All interested
Jacobs said: “There’s a mad, mad chase on all across Europe for the 23-year-old. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea potentially, even with the arrival of Badiashile and of course Wesley Fofana, Liverpool have kept an eye on him, and then, a whole variety of others across Europe. Paris Saint-Germain is another option.”
For Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, Raphael Varane, and Lisandro Martinez have kept up quite high standards, making for a rather relishing affair. The recent emergence of Luke Shaw as a central defender has been the cherry on top.
However, Harry Maguire’s future prospects have been cloudy. And next summer, Manchester United should let their captain go so they can bring in another defender. If Ndicka becomes a priority for them, it might be very fascinating. Ultimately, the soon-to-be-free French defender is an appealing proposition for all three teams.
